I paid under $20 for the paperback and it is "THE" reference source for all things and all brands of ancient motorcycles. Every chapter is on a different component, frames, forks, transmissions, clutch, etc. Lots of cutaway technical schematics. You will know how to dismantle, service, and replace everything. If you know how it works you can reverse engineer it.

Looks like the author Victor W. Page was pretty prolific in writing technical books through from 1910- 1930. Not really an economic boom time for authors so I'd imagine if he is still alive or likely his heirs are getting super rich from royalties. The copyright can skated with free downloads that are easily found with a search for the book title. Came up on the first page for me. I want it but not bad enough to take what is not mine. If this were a university or government funded research paper I'd feel otherwise but since we already paid for those but his is a private author.

If finances are an issue lets figure out how to buy a copy or two that can get mailed from member to member. Would be kind of cool to have a tattered greasy book with members autographs in it floating around. I'd be glad to pony up for the book if we can keep it circulating.

I have ordered two. One for me and one to ship around. Here's what I'm thinking:

Let's make a list of members that want to look at / read the book but don't want to buy it and are not likely to get to a library that might actually have a copy anytime soon.
I will start by shipping the book to the address furthest from me.
Keep the book for two weeks max.
Sign the book and include your location. A photo of you and your bike tucked inside the book would be great too.
Ship it or bring it to the next person on the list closest to you (to keep the cost of shipping down).
Every once in a while, compile a list of where the book has been and scan the photos and post.

Anyone interested?

Short list so far. Little interest or should we just start with a couple names and ask every few weeks who wants it next? Books aren't here yet but should be soon.

All it takes is one name at a time. Got to start somewhere. Maybe specifically offer the book via PM to people with builds already and it will grow.

Yup. I assume I'll send it to you first after I stick my name and "glamour shot" in it. I'll send you a PM when the book hits my mailbox!
