I been checking this website out for a couple of years. Discovered this website reading a thread from 2012 posted about a motorized clowns bicycle build. The motorized clown bike builds, built with Goped parts aren’t anything new, the tiny have been built for many years and are still being build by Goped riders. Sikk Toys built motorized clowns bikes, using Big Foot model parts. DIY builders use Goped Sport model parts. I have built several of the tiny motorized bikes over the years. I was about to start a new build July 2020. Was messaging on the 2012 clowns bicycle build. I was having a difficult time finding parts at the time. Had bought engine and other parts from DDM. Upon receiving the engine and parts, the FedEx driver left box sitting in middle of driveway at street and drove off as I walked out of house. The FedEx driver had been riding around with box in delivery truck for 2 days! When I picked up the box I had to grab the engine too keep it from falling out the bottom of box. The engine was damaged. I could see damage to clutch housing and fan cover, lose parts were falling out of hole in bottom of box. I contacted DDM, downloaded and printed out a return form and returned order to DDM. There response was there’s no damage to engine and no missing parts from box. The owner refunded my purchase price and black listed me from ever buying any part from DDM. He left me out the return shipping fee and no parts. When I replaced the DDM order I requested USPS or UPS shipping and I would pay shipping fee. Fedex has very poor service in my area and way too much damage. I was left with out the parts I needed to continue with the tiny motorized bike build and not able because of the owner of DDM.
Now that things are a little more back to normal and I found Gomeye to obtain parts from, I’m finally getting started building a new tiny motorized bicycle. It’s very similar to the motorized clown bike build done in 2012. It a popular build with Goped riders and sell really well on eBay. Just doing a bas build using clowns bicycle and Goped Sport model frame. Little more details and pictures then the 2012 build on this Website. I’m using the same manufacturer clowns bicycle, it and the Runt clowns bicycle are the most used clowns bicycle.

I search for the tiny clowns bicycle at thrift stores, Goodwill stores, and on eBay. Now days the clowns bicycles can be expensive, especially in good condition. When searching for a used Gopeds Sport model you have to be careful with your purchase. Kids are pretty rough on Gopeds. If you find a used Goped in good condition you can save yourself some money, To be honest I buy a used Goped frame and buy other parts new. In the end it ends up being close to the same amount of money, and you have all new parts. I buy very little or no Goped parts on eBay the parts ate priced too expensive. Gomeyer.com is where I been buying Goped parts. I bought the Goped Sports frame on eBay $60 shipped and cut engine box of and used a side grinder too remove frame tube and welding. Removed bicycle swim arm. Used cardboard and made templates of swing arm and engine box too work out angle of cut. Marked swing arm cut with template. I screwed the swing arm to a piece of 2x4 and cut angle with a 10” trim saw metal cutting blade. Made a perfectly even cut. I use a very good welder close to my house. He has made aluminum intake manifolds for Briggs and Stratton flathead engines I used on Rupp Mini Bikes. The forks need the axel bushings drilled out to accept a 3/8” bolt for Goped wheels. I found spacers at ACE hardware! Front brakes are just Goped Sports brake parts, bicycle caliber and lever work too. I used a bicycle brake caliper that was modified for Gopeds. Sold on eBay. Once the swing arm is manufactured and fork is modified. The Goped parts just bolt on frame.
Throttle cable and front brake cable have to be made from Goped cables. This is where I’m at with build.

I was looking at pictures of Rupp mini bikes on some website many years ago. And there was a picture of one someone had built. Several people replied about bike. The owner didn’t give any details about the bike. One person ask if the owner would sell the bike and the owner told how much it cost to build. The person made a offer for the bike. I started doing some research and found some videos the guy who had the thread on this website in 2012. I built My first tiny bike from watching videos the reading the tread on this website.
The bikes are easy to build with basic tools. They are dangerous to ride, but a lot of fun to play around on. I ride the bicycles in the basement and driveway before I start removing the bicycle parts from frame. This build I had the clowns bicycle 1 year and rode the bicycle during that time. It’s strange feeling peddling and then having a engine. The feel and ride of bikes are completely different. With Goped tires the ride feels like you floating and has a lot better tire grip. For some information that could be benefit members on this websit, I was able to reduce weight by 9.3 ozs. Installing a Aluminum seat post and lite weight seat! Seat post alone was 5.8 ozs. Weight reduction! I’m waiting on some parts to arrive. Going to install a different carburetor and intake manifold. I have to manufacture a throttle cable and kill switch wire. Be next week before I receive the parts. Hope you enjoy the build.

No Icon for caring for like above post or I would have clicked on it.

So, did you try it out? I was wondering about the high rpm range of the engine and how it is geared down. Noticed the gear box now attached to the engine. Is that an option with engine manufacturer? The friction drive by default gives a gearing down as it is much smaller than a sprocket. Tires on that of course being a tiny bike also help.

I noticed the start of this and although not a motorized bike, it appeals to me for that it is a DIY type build. Seems that you have watched the site for score of years. I started back then with a Briggs that was rusting but got it running and made an off-road bike that got approved for OHV registration and use when weather is cooler for trail riding.

The website I suppose has a lot of kit builds, though board track builds here use engine kits, some are custom adaption for engines. I look at those threads and found that there are some professional very talented people to learn from. I am not the best at typing and am not like professional in my builds, though I have got stuff to work.

I like it too when I get attention to my posts and replies in threads in a positive way, so wish to see you keep posting!

I'll take one, where do I send my money? Probably fit a dozen of those under the hatch of your ef8.

I am betting 99.5% of the traffic through this site is unregistered peoples.

Yes I have ridden the tiny bike 3 times, in the street in front of my house. It’s fast, will wheelie with touch of throttle. I have to build up speed slowly not to wheelie. It has a small drive spindle but will still do about 30 mph. What you see that you’re thinking is a gear box is a ADA racing external clutch housing with clutch bell. No a gear box. When the engine reaches the power band the RPM takes off like a rocket. It’s a handful to handle when it gets up too speed. I’m small 5’4” 110 lbs. so it picks up speed quickly with me riding it. I’m going to do a video of me riding it, but haven’t got around to making a video yet. I’m don’t want to crash or get hurt doing a video. Have to get my girlfriend to do the video for me. Been thinking about making a wheelie bar for it. Thank you for the interest. Haven’t been on here in a while been working on my 1988 Yamaha DT50. I installed a race spec engine I had Team Calamari Racing build for me.

The EF8 hasn’t been on the road in a couple years! Has engine problem, had a encounter with a old coupe with a big supercharger, drag slicks and wheelie bars. He tried to pass me and I left him in a cloud of tire smoke. I let the RPM get away from me, B18C TypeR. Yes several of the tiny bikes would fit inside of the back of the CRX. Are you really interested In buying the tiny bike? I haven’t listed it for sale yet on eBay. I wanted to test ride it a little bit and do a video first. I will list it on eBay for $995.00. They sell pretty fast. The last one I sold in 4 days, 2000 people viewed it, I received a lot of messages about the tiny bike in the 4 days and for days after the sell. You could build yourself one, I showed how it’s done. I use all new parts and that makes for a expensive build. If you find a clowns bicycle and complete Goped at a good price you can do a budget build. There’s several styles of the clowns bicycle. They can be found on eBay or in a Goodwill store Sometime. There’s several on eBay now but they’re expensive. Anyway if you’re interested let me know. Thank you

This website Is like flying into a abandoned graveyard.
Today is the first time I saw this thread, a lot of people use the forum but are not DIY,ers. I'm a DIY,er myself on a different level, I make "wildcat" ammo, I form cases for a couple of calibers from another cartridge.

I have built several of the Tiny motorized bikes over the years. Was looking at mini bikes years ago and seen a picture of one someone had built. There was a lot of threads asking questions about the tiny motorized bike picture. Then I seen one someone built on eBay for sale and learned more about the tiny motorized bikes and what type of clowns bicycle that was used. Did some research and found a video of one being built and ridden with a link to a build posted on this website. I found one of the clown bicycles and cheap used Goped and built my first tiny motorized bike. That’s how I got stared and found this website. It’s gotten really expensive to build the tiny motorized bikes these days, everything cost more! I don’t make much profit if any building tiny motorized bikes these days. It gives me something to do for a few weeks, I get to ride the tiny motorized bikes a few times, then sell it and get my money back. I’m more into small cc motorcycles, Gopeds and mopeds. I posted the build on mopedarmy website , I’m on mopedarmy all the time. Going to do a build on south bay riders website at some point and let Andy check it out. Nothing gets by Andy! I only ride 50cc motorcycles these days. My riding skills aren’t up too par with modern day sports bikes anymore with advanced age. Sadly I had to give up fast motorcycles before I got hurt.
Think you

Maybe not quite the same comparison, but see below:

I was at Burning Man back in 2010, I think it was, anyway picture a skate board with a HF 212. 6.5hp and the guy had foot straps holding to the board with a cable hand held throttle. Never saw him use it. Seems he mentioned the thing hurt too much to ride it.

You might put a throttle restriction on you engine as you mention how much it can get going fast?

PS

The Rupp Mini Bike pulling a cable attached to a kiddie merry go round to make it go also missed seeing it spin. Though with some of the animal seats removed an a couch installed it seemed pretty wild.

I use high performance RC engines when building the tiny motorized bikes, 3.25 - 3.5 horsepower. If used a power tool engine 1.5 - 2 horsepower the tiny motorized bikes would be easier too ride, but very slow, especially with a 6’ 200 lbs. rider. A large size spindle gives higher top end speed and slower time reaching top speed has less wheelie at low speed. A small size has lower top speed but reaches top speed faster and is easier to wheelie. There’s a fine line between the size difference and tire wear. It comes down too Throttle control! I have a lot of experience riding the tiny motorized bike. They’re fun to ride but can be very dangerous. 30+ mph is reaching the limits of being safe with the 6 inch Goped tires. You don’t want to apply the brake with the handlebars turned, you will high side. You don’t want turn and look behind you or you will pull to the side you look, run off road or run into the other side of road. The tiny motorized bikes aren’t for little kids, too dangerous! I have attached a picture of the most powerful tiny motorized bike I built. A 68 year old man in Florida bought it and rode it home from post office. His wife clocked him at 30 mph. He’s 6’ 200 lbs. was very happy with the tiny motorized bikes and had someone building a wheelie bar!
The Rupp Scrambler mini bike I built had unreal horsepower with the Fred Craw Racing engine. He builde JR Dragster engines. As soon as I touched the throttle the Rupp mini bike would start to wheelie. On grass the tire would dug down too dirt and wheelie. On pavement the Rupp mini bike would wheelie. It was difficult to get it started without a big wheelie. I had the 3 piece 10 inch wheels that weren’t very true, so it was impossible to reach top end speed, it wanted too wheelie and create tank slapping! Was just too powerful too ride. I parted out the Rupp mini bike and sold it on eBay and made money! I still have the Fred Craw Racing engine or a future project. I attached pictures of Rupp mini bike and the tiny motorized bike the 68 years old man in Florida bought. Thank You for the interest!
