Why no 212cc builds?

same here on wheels. as far as TQ they might have enough but it will be sluggish on take off even if it does. when I did my 212 all I did was a Flywheel Mod2 cam and 18 lbs springs so Im not going up a **** of a lot in hp and tq over stock Im also running a 22mm carb. As I said I would make sure I had several gears just to find what I liked if I was you.

I would go with no higher than 8 to 1, but no lower than 12 to 1.

I think NightRider is about right on that but it also maters how much you weigh and what all you put into the motor.

same reason I suggested several gears so you can play around with them. Im 10 to 1 now but I have a gear where I can go to 11.4 to 1 if I feel I need lower gear.

I have a 66cc road bike right now that I'm planning on slapping a 212cc on. I will have a jackshaft installed, and will use a simple centrifugal clutch because they're cheap and that's all I need. Also, I used a cad program to design a standard frame capable of holding a 420cc engine, but will be equipped with 212s. The first one will be called the freedom rider, because of the red white and blue paint scheme. I also designed my chopper frame, which looks kinda awkward, but I'm an awkward person, so it fits.

Sounds a lot like me NightRider I always have at least a couple things out of place or weird things on every personal build I do but that is because Im a little weird lol.

With my frame, it's more the triple length head tube and the shallow fork angle.

Man, when my build is done guys, it'll beat yours, simply because of my wheels. 700c wins all street races, but with CX tires, hehe. Off road too. It's simply because there is less rolling resistance, friction, and weight that the engine has to turn, so it doesn't work as hard to do the same thing. Hehe.

Rider I dont know where that came from but in Truth I dont care if yours is faster. Im not building for speed Im building for dependably. As far as your wheels and tires are going to make you faster we are not talking about peddling we are talking about engine power and gearing. So grow up to me this is not about speed but about building a one of a kind ride with my hands if it was about speed you would most likely not want to try me.

I liked Tony's comment about conjecture vs experience.
You can read and dream all you want, it takes work and experience to make it true.

Ya gotta crawl before you walk, and walk before you run.
Learn how to make a stock 66cc China Girl run reliable before you start modifying.
Put it to the "as designed state" and make it reliable. Learn "more" is not "better".
Understand the theory behind everything, not just the "tricks".
Do your mods one at a time to test them, and be honest if they work or not.

When you know the mechanical theories well enough to make a Yugo run reliable,
only then are you able to start considering to put a V8 into it...

lol for the most part I agree with you. that said you can never make a yogo run reliable till you put a non yogo motor in it lol. Just messing you have a point that is true Ive been building engines since I was 12 and that is over 30 years ago and in truth it dont mater what engine Im messing with even if it is the same one many times I always learn something new.

Hey, just a quick question, do cheap spark plugs pop often? Mine simply came apart. The core just, popped out of the case, while that stayed in the engine. Both were glowing bright orange when this happened, which leads me to believe a pretty decent leak. This also happened at high rpms.

Also, I just got my bike stolen yesterday, so I'm deciding to let it be with its new owner and start from scratch with an off road 212. Bigger tires and wheels, better gearing, tougher frame, and more comfortable saddle. I will modify the frame for rear suspension though, as the derailleur will act just fine as the chain tensioner.

Umm, No,
'Exploding spark plugs' on a gas engine is far less likely to happen than say a Samsung Galaxy cell phone battery ;-}

I say popped because when it came apart, there was a loud pop sound and then a complete loss of compression. I'm glad to learn that this doesn't happen often. Funny thing is, it was a clean separation. The ceramic core was completely intact.

I use Windows phones most of the time, so I don't worry about Samsung's exploding batteries. Right now I'm using an LG G4, and I don't like it. I personally like the Lumia 1320, mostly because it's a phablet for 100 bucks. Great battery life too. Good processing power, it won't lag like some other budget phones. But the battery will last two full days of use. Four days on stand by.

got mine running for the first time today and all I can say is Damn even with the small mods I did to the motor that damn 212 is ungodly quick with a 10:1 gear I only got up to about 45 today but I got there very quick. When people tell you that the 212 is to much Ill say it like this if you have no experience with a real motorcycle do not do a 212 build because this bike is quicker then several street bikes I have had over the years. So if you are considering a 212 build keep 2 things in mind 1 your skill in building and 2 your skill in riding.
