It would be amazing news if I could just throw on one of the pairs of BMX bike grips onto the throttle; I have a feeling it isn't that simple...

Do I buy motorcycle grips?

Except in the case of some cruiser motorcycles with 1” bars, all handlebar controls are designed for 7/8” or 22.2mm diameter bars. The difference between standard bicycle bars and motorcycle/moped/BMX bars is the diameter in the center where they mount to the fork.

That is a bonus! I like to buy out the clearance grips when I have the chance LOL

I had no idea that the grips can clear the throttle grip! To say I am excited is an understatement!!! Thank you!!!!

That could be a hazard LOL

I may mod a Grip Shift, then
I like a regular throttle. On my ebike I run two throttles, one on the right for acceleration and one on the left mounted backwards for variable regen brake that is twisted forward for brake. It doesn’t sound smart until you try it and it is super natural. I have used thumb and grip shifter throttles for the brake and I much prefer the grip one as even with the super light spring on the electric thumb throttle my finger got tired quick due to the unnatural position it must be in. I’ll be seeing how it is to have a full grip throttle for my brake in a week or so.

I use a low-volume horn for pedestrians on my right handlebar and a loud-volume horn that can be heard in a closed-compartment vehicle on my left handlebar. Make sense to me what you're doing.

It’s hard to say. People like this usually post a lot for a month or two then lose interest. This guy signed up on Saturday and I didn’t have my less than 24hr other forum experience till Sunday night.

Steve I didn’t even know custom throttle grips were a thing. Or replaceable even.

Guys like me lose interest when people are trying to be snobby. You don't know anything about me.

I didn't know that there were different sized sets of handle bar grips either Tony, until I was doing some late night internet cruising for early looking grips and the ones I bought for the Indian Tri Car appeared. They were 7/8" and 1" for the throttle.

Steve.

I know you said you are an experienced bicycle and motorcycle mechanic, yet here you are with a posting about grips. Sounds like you’re a crappy mechanic.

(from other thread)
LOL This bike may never get built!
In that case you should stay on the other forum where people talk a great deal about bikes they’ll never build.
