I considered ripping the guts out of the muffler. The endcap tiny exhaust hole is gone. As is this tiny tube stuck down in the muffler. We now go from muffler baffles right back into a 7/8” tube.

Well the exhaust is definitely a work in progress & good experience for me.
With that said, I am seriously considering putting this two-stroke motor in my nightster bobber build, mostly because nothing else will fit in that frame.
and if I do that, this bike is going to get a 79cc predator. It would fill the motor cavity out much better anyway.

If you are going to use fenders / mud guards. Wald makes fenders and braces of quality materials. The assembly's are rigid. When Danny got the Huffy WLA project bike, I went on red alert, and shipped him a set of Wald braces.
Huffy fenders are about as stout a as fenders on a 1970 Chevy Vega.

The other Forum being what i hesitantly refer to as the cheap one. Is rife with fender wrap horror stories.

Most all your bike frames but your first build will fit a stock Predy engine. In stock configuration. Enter that game and you are the engineer and designer. 4 strokes are a under supported segment of motor bicycling.

Thanks again Tom, ‘70 Vega fenders are probably fairly strong as compared to today lol. Road to and from my sophomore year in high school in the backseat of a Vega station wagon jammin to van Halen and Fleetwood Mac. I got my own car for my junior year and the guy with the Vega station wagon got rid of it and bought a 70 challenger with a 383 and pistol grip shifter.his brother bought a ‘71 396 chevelle. I just had a little 65 mustang with a 289.
anyway, you have me looking at wald fenders now. I like the 962 balloon fenders, wonder if they would fit this huffy deluxe...
I’m pretty sure I’ve decided to go with the 4 stroke on this build. I see there are a few kids out there with transmissions. What are your recommendations on a transmission for the 79cc predator? Looks like I need to brush up on your thread and go back and read it closer. Lol

My brother bought a new 1969 Chevelle with a 375hp, 396, 4 speed. There were rumours around town that when you hit 4th at 100 mph the back end fish tailed badly. The best part was our dad had to co-sign for the financing so part of the deal was mom got to use it when she needed it.
I'm standing in the showroom floor with my uncle who sold them the car about 3 weeks later and I hear the Chevelle coming and it's flat out peddle is on the floor. I said to my uncle here comes mom knowing she had the car and sure enough there goes mom doing about 65 in a 30mph zone hunched over the steering wheel. Trailing behind her by a lot of seconds was a 1958 Ford full of high school kids hanging out the window urging the driver on.
When I got home I asked mom what the kids had done to deserve that. The look of shock that turned into a look of cunning in seconds was priceless. She said the kids had pulled up beside her and yelled, "Goose it, Granny as the light changed. "So I gave it to the little Bast*rds." She was well known for not taking crap from anyone and more that one person told me about the old lady in the Chevelle who they had seen or had gone against not knowing who she was. Another time a old fella hit his horn just as the light changed and she dumped the clutch and sprayed his car with gravel and rubber.
She was 60 years old when they got the car and 5' 1-1/2" tall. We found out years later that they only made 400, 375hp, 396 Chevelle's. They had a "Chambered." exhaust which was nothing more than a straight pipe with dimples pressed into it. You knew it was coming blocks away.

That’s a great story Steve. I do not know the horsepower on my buddies car but it was also a four-speed and it would get up and go.
the baddest car that I was ever around was in college. My roommate had a 66 Chevelle with a 454. Low back bucket seats. I almost had to retrieve my head from the backseat when he stood on it!!! That car had serious torque.
which reminds me of another guy I knew in high school that had a little small block nova. That’s all he would admit to. Pretty basic street tires, but I saw him pull the front wheels off the ground in the Wendy’s parking lot one night. He was fast !!!
all my buddies had fast cars in high school. A ‘68 olds 442, ‘69 Mustang Boss 302, the Chevelle I mentioned and the Challenger I mentioned. There was one other guy I briefly knew in high school that had a Trans Am, with no hood and six pack of carburetors. He could barely accelerate from the spinning of his tires lol
my little Mustang didn’t do half bad. Lots of dudes with big blocks thought they could beat me. Some did and some didn’t, little mustang was quick and not completely stock.

Reading my 79cc Flyer build is a comedy of errors. Big mistake. For me was the Q Matic. A fine transmission used as designed. Does not esthetically work on a Flyer.
