You are uniformed/misinformed.I’ve had both ..like both. But like the ride of the motor bike better.
I just don’t see how sneaking bye the law(s) and riding onto trails, sidewalks or bike paths is a reason to to ride a ebike over a gas bike ? I pedal on side walks or path .. but usually stay away. When a sign says No Motor Vehicles allowed that means Ebikes tooooo!
First of all ebikes have no need to sneak onto a trail, or a commuter train for that matter. Federal law requires access to be given to certain low power electric vehicles. That includes personal mobility vehicles, Segway's, electric wheel chairs, and eBikes, if any, or all parts of a trail were made with federal money. That's going to include most city multi use trails, and also commuter trains in the country. Furthermore federal law specifically states electric bicycles "are not considered motor vehicles". Most state ebike statutes follow federal guidelines, so when a trail is posted no motor vehicles, it most certainly does not mean ebikes. Taking my eBike on the train to downtown is a luxury I enjoy often. There's really no comparison of the freedom eBikes have compared to gas bicycles.
