If you have happened onto this thread and found more conversation than building it's because of my health problems and this thread is much like having your garage door open on a sunny summers day and all your friends stop by. More talk than work happens.
There are photos and explanations of what was done though.

This is the first photo from Facebook that I saw and said to myself I can build that. I thought I'd lost it.

The search is ongoing. When I thought I'd buy one and then match it with a second one when I found it, I discovered just how many different bicycle lamps there are even from one manufacturer.

Considering these as a last resort. Wired possibly with LED's and mounted on the sides of the seat.

It's amazing just how many different styles of one model a maker produced with subtle differences in each one as they were improved . I've looked at Solar and I will probably buy one I like and try to match it over the next few months.

Another option are Ford Model T side lamps. Not brass but will work if all else fails and there is a good supply available.

Netflix has the rest of the family firmly in it's grasp. I avoid it like a former mother in law. It would be like Alice following the Rabbit down the hole. I don't need to see Oz.

Finally starting to feel better. Hoping it keeps up for a few more days before I claim victory. I've had some bad back episodes but this has been in a class by it's self.

Yesterday another storm hit with close to 50 mph winds and over 10,000 homes and businesses without power in the province. Many of them around us but we were missed this time.

Temperatures have been in the low to mid twenties for 10 days. Extreme cold for us and it added to the misery of the people with no power. Six+ inches of snow and more coming every hour.

We may have the cold until close to the end of the month. I'm not working in the garage until it warms up. As soon as I'm in the cold the arthritis starts to cramp up so I'll stay inside and order parts until it's warmer.

Steve I'm glad to hear you're taking care of yourself & showing some improvement. Arthur has a bitter cold sense of humor & our temps have been mirroring the ones you site with wind chill in single digits so I've avoided the shop work as well though my pain is minor compared to what you're experiencing. I have ridden daily though, but limit the rides to just a few miles at a time. I dress for it so it's not bad. Everyone that sees me must think I'm completely daft though I've ridden year round for many years now. Today we may see 70 degrees late, so a nice warm up before the next round of cold...our average high in Feb. is low 50's, but it will have to stay pretty warm to average that this year.

The e fat bike is getting a work out & I'm hooked on these things as a change of pace ride...just a totally different riding experience & though I've mounted the CVT on the 99 cc Lifan I'm doubtful that I'll put it on this bike, with the 20 amp battery pack I just don't feel or see the need for the extra utility of adding a gas motor. Also pull starting the contraption did a number on my right shoulder and that alone has me leaning away from it's use on anything without converting to pedal or kick start...3 D clutch instead?

Them storms are coming down and across the uper US last week we had -43, and been getting snow just about every day. Tomorrow we are getting what they got, and more snow. Think Washington got record depth of snow, sure glad i got heated shop.

Good to hear you are on the mend Steve. Being in Canada, did you get any medical attention for your trouble?
Rick, it was single digits here this last Saturday AM. My young neighbor was out on his China Girl. I met up with him at the township shop (garbage day) said it would run but only on 1/2 choke but ran well that way. Barometer was at 30.5 inches. no wonder his China Girl was running lean.

Hi Rick,
The clutch works now so I'm just going to ride the cold weather out. Our winter temperatures are 40's to low 50's but the past few years winter has been landing on our doorstep in February. Upper 20's at the moment.
More snow today so 8" total.

Great to hear the fat tired bike is doing well. I can imagine that pulling on the starter cord does a fella in. My neck and shoulder area has been a problem for years and I couldn't pull on a cord for long myself.
It will be interesting to see which lucky bike is the recipient of the Lifan and CTV.

Starting to look at wide rims for the electric tri car. It may possibly end up as a steam punk rendering. Saw a lot of new brass and copper that would lend itself to the look.
