Thanks for the pics! Absent minded me, went off and forgot my camera. The good part is you took pics of almost every thing I would have. Been going for over 20 yrs. Also that's my mini bike with little red wagon sidecar. THANKS AGAIN!

Once again thank you Mr B. Just like being there if you couldn't make it as always. it would be great if we could see Curtis build his bike. It will be a stunningly beautiful build for sure.

Hello DKR, When I saw the photo of your sidecar rig I was thinking that even if a person were to buy everything new it would be a fantastic set up to ride around on. Looked up what was being offered for sale and if I wasn't mired in more projects that I'll ever live to finish I'd be ordering parts right now.

Steve.

Hey Steve, the main reason I built it was to get around the Davenport swap meet. When I first started going I used to walk it, but I've gotten older and the swap meet has gotten bigger. Works great for hauling parts back to the campsite. Hope to meet you guys next year! ............Doug.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Went through them a couple times. I really liked the Peashooter without engine. Was it for sale? Man, I sure would like to walk around that swap meet with a pocket full of cash...

Hey Pat, the Peashooter was for sale , but I don't know how much. The price on the bare metal roller next to it was $11,000. Will be contacting you soon, I need a tank for a 1950 Panther straight bar............. Doug.

I was there!
Sold a bunch , bought a bunch, including a 1958 Mustang scooter!
But the highlight of the weekend was wining the checkered flag for the Harley 165 vintage 1/2 mile flat track race!
Finally won the checkered flag after 16 years of blood, sweat, and tears!!!!!!!
Great weekend!

Now that's some good work & persistence! Congrats on wins all 'round.

Really favor the Mustangs over all the so called scooters. There's a nice one here locally, Pony 8 hp & 3 speed) that I can see every day in a local display window, not for sale, but makes me smile when I ride by... Rick C.

I think I saw that. Were you the one they traded flags with after the race was finished?

Yes! That was me! There was a lot of mis-communication going on!

The race was suppose to be 5 laps around the 1/2 mile. Then when we all got lined up and ready to take off, the flag man insisted it was a 8 lap race. ??? 5 laps or 8 laps I had no idea.??? I tried to dispute, but with a helmet on and bikes all lined up ready to go, my words went unheard.

So they threw the green flag, and we all take off, not knowing for sure if it was a 5 lap race or 8 laps????

Then on lap 2 or 3, I had the lead, and as I flew past the flag man, he crossed 2 flags indicating the half-way mark. As I went by the 5th time, he threw the checkered flag, but after 16 years of racing Davenport, I wasn't about to let off the throttle! So went an additional lap just to make certain the race was over!

I went up to the flag man, he handed me my checkered flag, and I did my victory lap, giggling like a school girl!

I got back to my pits, and a race official took my flag from me, and someone else handed me another flag?????

Don't know what that was all about???

Evidently the flag man handed me the wrong flag, but it didn't really matter!

Anyway, after 16 years of Davenport racing, I finally brought home a checkered flag!
