Good choices. I was not aware of your first build and found it with the rat rods & then viewed it all, which leads me to believe that your 1911 HD will be just as impressive. I'm eager to follow this one! Rick C.

front end welded and 90%- need stiffer springs in shock tubes
motor mocked up.....
appreciate the votes of confidence.

Beautiful work. I wish your photos were larger so we could see more details. I'll be watching this one. Please keep us posted on the progress.

Does anything special have to be done to a harbor freight 79cc motor to mount it so the cylinder is straight up other than leveling the carburetor?
anything to the low oil sensor? etc...
thanks

Get in touch with scotto he has done a lot of upright conversions, use the search at the top,of the page...............Curt

Nice builds...are you going with 79cc instead? I'm in Mi. Macomb are you close?

All the smaller motors have the 5/8" shafts, way back into the 30's or so, when they started making them.Should work good. you have to get into the 3hp i think has the 3/4" shafts. There are a lot of builds using the 79 on the forum...............Curt

progress update- "transmission" motor mount roughed in, handle bar mounts complete and bent up prototype handle bars.
decided to go with 79cc motor.
starting to mess with gearing
