I am bad at Titles (OCC first build)

Hey bro, Sorry for yer engine breakdown, But this post made me suspicious. I've built at least 10 of the OCC's and none of them ever hit 40mph, 30mph or so maybe. straight gas might give it a boost untill it blows up. what mix ratio were ya using?

as of now I am thinking of dropping the 2stroke and purchasing a honda GX35 to do an in-frame with that.
I understand that a 4-stroke will require some kind of transmission I am looking at the ones for sale from kings motor bikes I am a little more than out of my knowledge base here though.
anyone out there have experience with this kind of thing?

Honestly, Im gonna say you'll likely be wishing for your 66cc 2 smoker back if you do go with an inframe GX35 4 stroke, but i could be wrong.
You'll be surprised out how little power that tiny 4 stroke will have compared to the 2 smoker you had, but the GX5 will for sure be more reliable with the correct setup, just dont plan to climb any hills or get anywhere very fast.
I know there are others here with a lot of 4 stroke experience but KCVale is the first tha5 comes to mind for answering transmission questions, since he's built a lot of 4 stroke bikes.

I gotta agree with Map here. If ya got used to the power of the Dirty little China girl, then a little 4 stroke aint gonna "GET YA OFF' at all. You might think about one of the Harbor frieght Predator engines. Their cheap enough and people that have used them have had no big problems with them. They seem to be pretty reliable. BUT, I'm a 2 stroke guy, I'd just order another China girl myself.

oh how nice that would be.
I am limited by law to no more than 49cc in ontario, also a gx50 is about three inches to tall and another three too wide to fit (I'm trying to avoid chopping a rebuilding the frame) whereas a gx35 should slip right in there no trouble. also the law here is opposed to the bike having a hand operable clutch, so I am sort of required to use a four-stroke here.
I was sort of thinking of just getting another china-girl but here's my logic: I bought a grubee skyhawk which i believe to be about the middle of the road in therms of quality for a CG engine. having done about everything right it blew up on me after less than a year. I can accept that I may have purchased a bad example and this is about the bottom end of lifespan I can expect for an engine like this. but for twice the dollars i could either upgrade to a thatsdax little evil engine (or similar top of the line GC) or buy a honda engine.
it may be a weaker engine but I doubt I will be facing down buying a new motor very soon...

After some more window shopping I have a quick question if anyone has the time.
what are the actual dimensions of the GX50 (or clone) if I remote the gas-tank, the exhaust, and the carb?

Did the laws in your area bother you when you road your bike with the engine that died on you?
If not then why would you be concerned that they will now if you got a new CG 66cc and put 48cc marking on it just for a little extra insurance that might prevent them from giving you trouble.

Yes, in the most awesomely polite and Canadian manner ever. but the fact that the 66 and 49 are near identical was all that was letting me have those extra CCs. if I go with anything else I would prefer to have done what I can to be above board.
e.g. if a cop googles "49cc bike motor" on his phone he will see "my motor" (if I have a 66cc) if he googles "predator engine" he will know immediately I am full of it.
the thing is though, I was looking at the bike with a tape measure earlier and I am not sure, but I think a GX50 with the gas-tank, muffler, and carb moved out of the way could fit in my frame, I am really not sure though.
if I can cram the bigger engine in there I want to, the reason I was looking at the GX35 is that I know people have had luck with them and I also know that it will fit in the space available. if I had some more accurate measurements of the motor I would know for sure about the GX50.
there are some other things I wish I knew for sure about the GX50 like, will this motor throw a fit if I mount it at an angle?

Motor Dropped in, all I had to do was take off the carb then put it back.
and spend like two or three hours staring at the mount parts until I puzzled it out.
I think there's a little lean to the left on the motor, nothing more shims wont fix. but those shims are hacksawed from half inch wide, one eighth inch thick steel bar, and I am tired.

got the mount straightened and tightened.
hooked the throttle cable up, took the rear brake off for now.
also as someone who managed to shorten a roller-chain without a chain-breaker: buy a chain-breaker.
once I get the kill-switch hooked back up all I need it oil and gas and I am going.
well that and pedals, but that's it's own thing...

took her for a spin today.
all went well other than realizing the "spare bottle of motor oil" I gabbed in the garage was actually "mysteriously saved, used motor oil" when I poured it in...
so I also did a practice oil change, put some fresh 5W30 we had in it (manual says 10W30 but I am sure it will be fine until the first of next month when I can buy another quart and change it.)
onto the pictures!
the first one it the original spindle and the kit spindle for the pedals side by bottom. there are some compatibility issues there, I may need to get a custom made spindle for this bike to have wider pedals. the kit one wont fit, and if it did it doesn't offset the pedals right. (I need more offset to the left than the right)
second picture is my fuel run, rubbing-alcohol'd my old filter and re-used it because I'm poor. very happy with the fuel line run this time.
third picture is my temporary footpegs, I didn't take another picture but I added some more electrical tape to the ends to make knobs.
