Here is my latest project. I wanted to do something with the new 26" Mongoose Beast but I wanted to leave everything just like factory also. So I decided to go with the 4 stroke and mount it to the left rear of the frame. It surprised me beyond belief ! It rides like a dream and seems to be very fast on the top end. So what do you guys think of the weird setup on this ride?

Axle mount engines can look awkward, but it looks really cool on your 'Goose. More details please.

There is really nothing to detail about the build. I contacted BGF and he told me about this kit he had access to and thought it would be perfect for the Beast. So I ordered one from him and now you see the results. He had it in this 4 stroke and also a 2cycle but I wanted the extra torque of the 4 stroke because I didn`t know how the little 2 stroke would handle those big fat tires. I`m glad I went with the 4 stroke! I also thought that it would ride odd with all the weight on the left rear but I can`t tell it`s there while I`m moving.

what was the price of the kit? I'm new around here and after researching a bit I haven't managed to find out where BGF sells since the ebay store seems to be gone.

I think I'll follow suit ... I like it ! Even tho I am neither a fan of 4 strokes on bicycles or of rear mounts of any kind ... this I like . What cc is it and what would you say the total for kit cost you ?

Good news as it sure looks awkward and unbalanced but if it fits you great!
Well done.
Nice motor option for $320 to keep the fat tire pretty much stock as well.

I didn`t know how the little 2 stroke would handle those big fat tires.
Good choice as without gears a 2-stroke would have been tough and other than side or top mount wouldn't fit on the bike.

I went 1KW electric on my fat tire Goose build.

Nearly quadruple the motorizing budget as yours but I'd bet it could literally run a few circles around you in a mile run from a dead stop and then continue on for 20+ miles.

Cool bike though I like the Sun fat tire better and you did a nice job of getting some motor help on your budget as that's what it's all about ;-}

Oh yes I think it will do better than 30mph. I have a good speedometer coming soon. I will mount it and give it a good run. It feels like it will definitely run faster than a 2 stroke would.

Really cool build Don. Love saddle mounts (just my word for side mounts, for lack of a better one)

Being a huge fan of 4 strokes but hate wide pedals. My main bike is a 79cc Greyhound (HF) and man, ya just don't wanna pedal home or to the gas station. It's like trying to pedal a barrel.

Good luck getting a 4 stroke 49cc to go better than a 66cc 2 stroke, just saying.
Not to be disagreeable and just chatting, Theon. But my Honda 50 4smoke is far better then any of my 66cc China Girls. Faster and with far more torque. The 2 strokes are a tad bit quicker off the line, though.

Just chatting and hope not to offend.

I love this. I am looking for a first build and this looks great. I can't seem to find any kits like this anywhere. Is this still available?
