My first race bike build!!!

I made mine just by miter cutting it and welding it back together... took all of 15 minutes to do but it does need to have a gusset installed. Mine's plenty strong but I can feel it flexing with 200 pounds of me on it so I'll be welding in a gusset before I ride on it.

I'm going to have big wheel order my back rim with 12 gauge spokes. It will be in on Tuesday. Just to be on the safe side
 
Depending on your budget, you could use one like the Puch Monza/ Magnum which looks more like a narrow motorcycle tank and fits over teh frame top bar real nicely, Other brands like Trac, Trac Escot, Montomarina, or Garelli would look really nice after painting to match your frame etc...
I've also liked the way the XR50/CRF50 plastic tanks look as well, these are wider and shorter and will give you a much more of a dirtbike look than the previous ones mentioned... These are a lot less expensive and they do give a cool look but may need some custom bracket work to fit on your frame.

These are just some of the types I like depending on which type of frame they're going on, but there are more like the Whizzer that would work and loo good too... Most the metal moped tanks look best on cruiser frames but could probably look ok on a mountain bike frame, my preference for the mountain bike frames is the XR50 type because they're plastic and have a sort of rugged look...

I think Treatland also sells the Puch type tanks and they look really cool when matched up to a Puch type cafe seat
 
Yeah, those Puch Monza type are usually replicas made in India, their quality is ok, but the going rate seems to be around $150 to $200 then ya gotta watch out for shipping prices too... Treatland has them for around $170 if I remember as well but if you're realy lucky, you might find a used one on ebay that doesn't need much more than just a paint job for a decent price, the big thing about used tanks is that there's not a lot of rust inside or big dents
 
Here ya go... https://www.treatland.tv/category-s/431.htm ... a bit on the pricy side tho. i'm looking more toward the XR50 type for mine because I like the rugged dirtbike look and those type usually cost under $50, the metal tanks whether original or replica remakes are usually going to cost the most. You could always just go with the cheap 66/80cc kit type tanks for now just to get it up and running then put on the tank you really want once your bedget gets better. I know you've been spending quite a bit on tis project so far and got the good stuff where it counts in the driveline so if you gotta use a cheap tank for now it'll be ok until you can get the one you really want.
 
Finally got my rear sprocket and adaptor from jakes. I ordered the wrong size. I think i need a 1.524 to 1.528. For my bike. Order my chains today, double kickstand, the rest i will order on Monday. Almost there!
 
I now believe i just might have tire clarence issue once i install my rear sprocket and chain. Any way i can change something to make up for more clearance?
 
I'd try using spacers under the sprocket first, you could also readjust your spokes to put the wheel slightly off center from the hub if you only need to move it about 1/8" or less, you can offset the rim even more but may need to use 2 different spoke lengths to get it further off center and still true, depending on how much adjustment room you have.
If you can use spacers, that would be the easiest way to go... offsetting the rim by readjusting the spokes can also effect the ride and handling if you go too far, but it's still a good option if you only need a little extra clearance.
 
My 2gallon gas tank just got here. The channel in the tank is not wide enough to fit on my bike, more fabrication for me
