i'm bummed. since i wasn't going, i got a wee bit tipsy last night, then my roommate calls at 4am saying he's almost back home from coachella and i can use his truck. i had none of my gear together, was still kinda drunk, and just couldn't do it...:(

have fun, race safe guys...

quite interesting watching motorized bicycles race against M/X motorcycles with bicycle tires and peddles. i'm glad most everybody held their own but were far outclassed sorry to say. all i can say about the go-ped's is WOW! i missed all the old racers that were missing and i hope they show back up. oh! and the 6 cylinder VW guy's what a bunch of snob's how can they see the track with their nose's in the air? things change but still had a great time as always. dennis

Thank you everyone who showed up to support motorized bicycle racing! :)

Socal Motor Bicycle Racing is membership only now since April 12th.
We have about 26 members who have claimed their race number with a $5 yearly membership fee.

The deadline for SMBR 2014 membership is Sat May 31st at 10am.
Race numbers after that cut off date are available to the first racers to claim them.

SMBR membership fees will be used to buy two way radio's, race flags and other track needs.

Any left over 2014 funds will be carried over to the next year.

The SMBR member list will be published online.

I had a great time at this one Neil. I know I kid around with you about petty stuff but I want to also thank you for putting on the races. I love this track because checking out the cars in the pits and watching them scream around the big track between races is an added bonus!

Always a pleasure to hang out with you and the regulars at the track. :)

Thanks for supporting the races, Dennis.

M/X motorcycles with bicycle tires and peddles is called a MotoPed.

Great bunch of guys from www.motopeds.com bought some awesome
motorized bikes to the race.
Most of them that raced were fully auto 50cc Lifans with only one 155cc
shifter in the Unlimited Class who left it in 3rd gear for the final race which
he won overall.
Did you see the fat tire Motoped? They have an ebike version too.

Here is a pic of the fastest guy on a Motoped on the track! :D

Great to see everyone and race all day. The aprons inside each turn required the right line, no forgiveness! Thanks Neil for putting these on.
Video soon-ish ... a lot of footage of the back tires of other riders (Ken, wild Bill, Scott, Andy, Burkman, all the Arrow gang and more)

The next Socal Motor Bicycle Racing event is on Sat May 31st at Grange Motor Circuit.

New racers at the April 12th race claimed some racers numbers that have not come to a SMBR race for over a year.

I don't think you made one race last year?
$5 a year membership is for racers who come to at least one race a year.

New racers included a 7 year old, 11 year old and two 18 year old young ladies plus another 17 year old male, all students from a school program with their teacher who helped them build their bikes.
