Hello guys! I am a college kid who is a complete newbie when it comes to motorizing bikes. I am having a great amount of difficulty. And by great amount of difficulty, I mean that I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING. I've been browsing this website a lot but it just seems like I need some hands-on help. I live in Riverside, CA. I was wondering if anyone is nearby and could come over and help me?!??! I can frickin' pay you, man. Just get this thing going... or at least come take it off my hands. I'm seriously pretty close to giving up but I really don't want to. I'm desperate.
HELP ME!!!!!!!
:-||

P.S. It's a 2-stroke Flaming Horse kit. I'm trying to put it on a Schwinn Jaguar.

I was in your place about 3 months ago - got the wild idea to build a motorized bike, no clue whatsoever what I was doing. Started off as a single-speed project, then I discovered what jackshaft kits are and... well, then the budget increased even further! Had my first rides this weekend, and with a little more tuning it's going to be awesome. If you've got even a little bit of mechanical know-how, you'll do fine - this forum is an awesome resource, and there are even others out there too. Google is your friend :)

If u just want someone to take it away I'm your man. I'm 5 hours away I'll come get it. Or just tell us what it is doing, or not doing and I'm sure many are willing to help...

Jackmerius Tacktheritrix....

If I weren't so far away I would be more than happy to help you out, just hang in there buddy and hopefully there is someone here that lives close that can come look at what you have and give you a hand in getting it lined out, if you have a way to take and post pix on here that may be a help for us to be able to see what bike you have and what you have done to this point so we can advise you on what may need to be done to help you get it all together the right way so it will be safe and as reliable as possible, dont give up, it will be worth the trouble when you get to the other side of the problems and have a cruiser you can hit the streets on.

Best wishes Jackmerius Tacktheritrix........

I haven't gotten help yet and I'm not on the road yet. There's just something special about saying you built it yourself. So I'm going to keep trying for a couple weeks. When I eventually give up I will either take it to Venice or I will sell the kit if I don't have the cash to pay for assembly. This is something that I want to do but not enough to pay over another hundred bucks for. Some cooperative hands-on help would be the absolute best. It also doesn't help that my garage's light doesn't work so I can only work on the bike during the daytime, which is when I have classes. :/ I'm just rambling. It just makes me feel a little better that at least I have options to pay for assembly or to sell the kit if I can't do it.

As usual, the community here is awesome.

Do you know anyone with a motorcycle? Maybe a local cycle shop? I find it's pretty easy to get people interested and ready to help. Most motorcycle guys will help you out for a chance to check out your bike! Maybe someone in a mechanics class at your school? Talk to the shop teacher and see what he suggests...
Keep the faith and you will get it going!

Ayup, what Manic said.

What is the main problem? Post lots of pics. Most every problem imaginable has been overcome and some great help/how2 posts.

When ya get frustrated, walk away for a while.
All this hair pulling will make it all the sweeter when she fires up the first time.

You can do this and do it well. Don't give up.
It will annoy you forever, lol.
