I used to ride road bikes in the old days [Honda 750-4, Kwaka900 etc]. One of my mates was telling me his 250 yammy dirt bike was faster than my 750. Told me to try it to the corner and back, see if I liked it. I didn't know it, but him and his mates were expecting to have a laugh - the dog at the end of the street had been hassling him recently.
Well I was doing about 60K and the dog came tearing out of his driveway and I didn't see him till the last second. He barreled straight into the side of my front wheel and took it out from under me.

me - broken collarbone, two ribs, cracked eye socket lucky not to be blind in one eye.

My upper lip was popped, and my chin got a road rash. I did'nt thought the injury on my upper lip was that severe, because it was'nt that painful, but when I went home and look at the mirror it was worst than I had imagined. Good thing the bleeding stopped, put some wound gel on it and a band aid. Now, it looks fine as if nothing happened. Don't underestimate the power of your engine. It has more power than you think...
