i used a 8 mm by just twirling the end around on a sander

yes, 8mm works. You just have to "shave" a little off the outer rubber to get it to go into the hole. No biggie though.

Irrid plugs require enormus fire to work right. There pretty tho.

i replaced my plug and not much difference at all. the spark plug wire i changed and it made a huge difference

Where did you get the "spark plug wire"? Do you mean the single distributor cable that connects to the kill switch? Just asking because I bought a second hand engine with no spark plug wire?

Auto Parts store the wire screws out and is easy to replace.

Go to a small engine repair shop , the guy I went to had a large roll and cut off a 12 inch piece and just gave it to me for free. There must be a guy that repairs lawn mowers in your area, or motorcycles, or boats.

Seems a little expensive for a wire and cap.

Any quality 7mm wire and cap will work fine.

The stock boot should be O.K. as long as you double check it...some fall apart.

the stock plug boot does come apart for repair as long as you don't loose the small parts you can reach in there with a small flat bladed screwdriver and remove the brass plug and take out the wire clip to get that part back inplace when it acts up. Don't be afraid to mess with it cause you can get replacement boots at the parts store and the kind of boot where you don't have to have the sparkplug with the removeable tip.

The orginal Chinese spark plug that came with my engine has approximately 1/2" length of thread. I bought a NGK-B6HS for a spare, and its also the same thread length. In looking at the thread in the cyclinder head, it appears to be about 3/4" in depth. I would think that I should be using a spark plug that is made for this depth. What are your thoughts on this guys?
