If your not interested in long reads this is not the thread for you. If you are interested in how a company will screw you whenever it can, please read on.

I have had the worst time with an Ebay company in the last few weeks, thought I would share.

On 5/14/13 I ordered a "80cc 2 stoke engine kit" or "China-Girl" if you would, seeing how it looks and is essentially built the same as my flyinghorse I figured how bad could it be, I shipped priority for a extra $22.00

As of 05/24/13 I had not received any tracking # and the "Company" was playing phone tag with me

6/1/13 Hey guess what decided to show up? That is right the China-Girl kit. At this point I am overly happy it finally showed up and I didn't get screwed over by a foreign company. Out of the box it looks like any other 2 stoke except I noticed one of the cooling fins was bent..easy fix right? bent it back down and to my surprise it snapped right off..great So I move forward with the build I start slapping parts together when I notice...hey their's no throttle cable...or clutch cable...and hey that chain is rusted orange...what the ****. I called it a night at that point
.
6/2/13 Called the "companies" contact number multiple times, every time it went to voice mail...spoken in Chinese.
I decided to say screw it I will just get the parts from BikeBerry, which I did and I am very satisfied with what they sold me.

6/7/13 My new parts finally show up and I get building, all goes well. I left bad feedback on Ebay for the seller they immediately respond as soon as I do. They say that they are very sorry for the trouble I am having and will send me the parts I need, I gave them a list of missing parts, they never respond back.

At this point I should have just let it go and enjoy my new little toy but then this happens...I go to start it for the first time and the clutch makes a **** of a bang noise. One of the ears to mount the clutch cover snapped completely off. Okay....I own a welding shop I can fix this, so I weld up the crap Chinese pot metal and try again...no luck at all. Checked the CDI, checked the plug, checked the wiring, checked the clutch, all is well. Finally checked the compression 0psi...wtf. So I pulled the cylinder the piston rings from the factory are cracked.

6/9/13 I attempt to call the "company" again same thing someone speaking Chinese on the voice mail. I sent another Ebay message about the situation.

6/19/13 Still no word from the "company" about this situation. I have sent several messages, and left several voice mails.

At this point I am in to this motor almost double what the kit costs and it still doesn't run, the selling company will not even dignify me with a response, at this point I would be happy if they told me to piss off.
Moral of the story? If your looking for a cheap motor kit, stop and save up $20 more and get anything but a China-Girl. These things are cheap and come with very little customer support. I essentially have a 8 pound paper weight and a headache because of a lack of respect for the customer.
I will post pictures of all of this as soon as I get them uploaded.

Simple solution, don't use eBay. It sounds insensitive, and many people do have good experience with eBay, but I never use them. eBay just seems down right ****ty to me. I buy from EOS and have had the best experience so far.

Most of the time they are cheaper than ebay as well.

Best of luck,

He's right, now I have never had a problem with ebay and have gotten my money back
at times when I would spin my wheels with other companies
when I went thru bikeberry aka spookytooth they jacked me around
for six months and never completed my order. it's the luck of the draw!
what company were you doing biz with? boy go fast has a bad rap as well
as others, but I did have a good experience with nationwide
and I know this will sound callous but if you don't have the where with all and
mechanical aptitude. Buy pre built these kits are not as easy as they make it
sound PERIOD You will have to do mods and that doesn't count on cheaply
made gas tanks etc. basically I buy the engine the rest I toss if there's
something wrong with it and I don't cry about it. NOT saying you are.

Exactly what I do as well.

Also when I say I have had the best experience, I am referring to their excellent customer support as well as their product quality. EOS has their own factory in china, so they have a better say over what is done to their engines.

Re: Why shouldn't you buy a China-Girl?

Ive bought from BoyGoFast many times over the last few years and I've never had any complaints about how I have been treated, only had major issue with one engine I bought from him, I had to contact him one time about an issue that I cant even remember exactly what was now, but I had a good experience and he replaced the part and even sent me some extra gaskets at no extra charge, I do remember that part, but on the other hand I've heard other that have said they had a terrible experience with communication with BGF, maybe bad experience because of the way they initially addressed him with the issue or maybe not. BGF/LEB has always done me right when I have bought from them, just ordered a complete upper jug, piston, rings, pin and clips tonight by the way for $34 shipped to my door, I will be putting these parts on the Dax lower I bought last week.
I have never bought any china girl parts or engines form any of the other ebay sellers so I cant testify to how any of them do business.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Mjpioneer and I hope you get it all worked out.

Best wishes, Map

Thanks for posting the link for EOS Mr. Minecraft, never heard of them until I clicked your listed link, if those are good quality built engines, they are priced right for sure, $139 shipped to your door is a great deal if they are better quality engines than the BGF and maybe somne other as well.

Peace, Map

Mmm...I've never had a problem with getting my engines through LEB on eBay. None at all, and the prices are much cheaper than the online stores. Looks like you got a really bad deal. Why not expose the "company"?

Oh, and ALWAYS strip down a new engine and rebuild it...it'll assure all the parts are in working order, and you'll be sure that no foreign objects are in the case. You can also sleep knowing that YOU made sure everything is ship-shape before you try turning-over the engine for the first time.

Exactly, now I never thought of buying from gasbike because of some of the
things I've heard, but dealing with them on ebay I had a great experience
great customer service meaning I emailed them and heard back in 24 during
business hours the emails took about an hour, and so far I have taken off the jug checked everything well cleaned out the crank and expect no probs
unless it's with the cdi, will know when I mount it!
Great customer service
great parts
even the tank zero rust, zinc plated, studs appear to be welded right.
tonight I caswell 2 tanksdance1

Re: Why shouldn't you buy a China-Girl?

I have built several dozen of the ebay chinagirl kits so I have some experience with them.
I'm not going to argue quality with you on china girl motors as my opinions are well documented elsewhere in my reviews and comments.
I feel obligated to point out the broken case looks like a classic example of a too-loose chain catching on the case upon starting, so it is possible this particular problem was your fault rather than the manufacturer or materials.
Not throwing rocks, just pointing out the obvious. There is no doubt you got a bad motor from the pics of the top end. No new engine should look like that inside before it ever starts. Yours looks like someone blew it up and returned it and the vendor sold it to you again afterwards.
Looks like you got a bad vendor and that sucks. Not all vendors are bad. Don't condemn the entire industry on one bad purchase.
I have personally been very unhappy with bikeberry and yet had great results from sub $150 ebay kits. Best advice I can give is listen to what people say about vendors and do some homework before your next buy and you should have a much better experience.
You CAN get a good kit cheaply still, you just need to be careful who you buy from.
I learned my lessons about buying cheap long ago and this is why I don't get burned as often anymore, but it is always a chance you take buying online.
If you like these motorbikes, don't give up.
They can be serious fun if you approach them in the right mind.

Hey boys, my DAX Balanced Bottom with a seriously modified BGF PISTON&JUG be a rolling MFER , ya boys. My first BGF kit was crap, locked up 45mins in the game. My fellings on this is like this ,I'll buy parts pullstarters, pistons jugs, wrist pin kits, but not a motor it just not worth all the blood & sweat to have A CG break your heart . It's bad enough she steals your wallet. Rick Who is a cool dude and he'll usually stand behind his products as long as you don't start mother f***ering him. Understand something, there is over 300 companies in China that make these engines. Most people even members here on the DON'T KNOW BGF, LEB, ROSE326A all sell up to 3 different grades of engines. And by this I mean B-C-D grade kits. Everybody says don't blame the sellers, well I'm here to tell you the seller KNOW when they get a he!! of a deal on a huge purchase the product will be substandard .

Re: Why shouldn't you buy a China-Girl?

I bought a few engines from BGF with no problems until I got a total dud and never got any satisfaction from the seller. So what did I end up saving by buying my engines that way? Nothing. I lost. I think the quality of the engines is pretty much a crap shoot. What is different is the quality of the sellers. Some will go out of their way to make good, others return to their home planets and leave you to deal with the mess.

The one China girl engine that was a step above in quality was the PK-80 I got from Pirate Cycles. That was a really good one.

I doubt I'll ever buy another China girl. I still have a couple and may use them, but I prefer other two strokes. I have a German 2 stroke Sachs (quality!) a vintage British 2 stroke Villiars midget and an American made Jacobson 2 stroke of 147cc. The Chinese four stroke clones are pretty good, especially for the money.

Good luck to you. This first one is a learning experience and next build you'll know better how to work around problems and how to avoid them in the first place. Welcome to the forum!

It sounds to me like your trying to call me out.
I'd like to think if my 2 shovelheads run, my cj5 with built amc 360 runs, and the core trusted me to rebuild dueces I can make a 2 stroke bike engine work. But hey your clearly the expert not me.

Don't sweat it. Some of our members are more excited than others and its best to just take it all with a grain of salt.
Besides, I'm the only one here who actually DOES know-it-all. ;P

Let's see, the piston's ramped, fully skirted. On the jug I milled in the 3rd transfer port , opened up and polished exhaust and intake ports ,port and polish the transfer ports .

Re: Why shouldn't you buy a China-Girl?

Alot of people knock grubee engines but other than the small gear bolt shearing off twice now (shoulda loc-tite'ed it), all the issues I've had with it were my own doing. Speeddemon.ca sells motor kits at the lowest prices I've seen, combined with the forum2012 coupon, it's an amazing steal at $152 CAD but they dont ship to the states apparently (if they did you could have kits at $135). My roommate ordered one, they look great, looks like they even use 12.9 alloy hardware. However the Type A, B, C, or D motors I'm not so sure are qualities of the motor, unless a vendor (dax?) can verify, as far as I knew, they were just slight design variances or updates (e.g. C is older than D). I know type D motors run a shorter rod and lower ports to boost compression, I compared a D-type cylinder with my grubee and while it fits, it's incompatible because of the port heights and wrist pin location.
