anyone build motorized trikes?

my mom is somewhat handicapped and would like to ride a bike, but cant get it started due to her disability and the possiblity of falling isn’t a great one for us. also, the seat would need to be pretty high.

any ideas?

Thanks!

Welcome Moosejaw. Trikes are not that stable over 3 mph or so. They turn funny. I limit mine to 15 mph. A seat in the air makes the center of gravity worse. Lower is better. (c)
It can be done, but theres a lot of money involved. Hoverround makes a great way to get people around.

trikes are scarey to ride. not safe. i built one once.but ended up taking the motor off because it was too dangerous at high speed. not fun
Not scary if you ride with respect for the machine... also, if you're riding on pavement, I'd not just put an engine on a trike, I'd put a differential on it, so the rear end isn't prone to slippage and loss of traction, every time you have to take a turn. When built properly, they're not unsafe.
