Haha, yup. I think I saw a replacement for 8 bucks or so.....not bad, but i bet it works just fine.
Wear a leather glove when you belt sand it or you wont be able to hold it evenly or at all for that matter.
multi-tasking,doing your nails at the same time,,lol xct2

Hey,Guy's it worked slicker than snot on a brass door knob!
What I did first was scribe a line 1/4" along the outside edge where I wanted to cut then with a band saw,I cut as close to the line as I could.
Then I just finished it to the line with my belt"grinder".
Worked great!! even brought the gear cover below the surface of the mag cover.you can use your supplied hardware and clutch pusher bar nooo-problem!So clearance isn't an issue...Kip.

I'm also working on other projects that if they work out will knock your socks off!Future Threads Stay Tuned!! Kip.

Hi,All! First off I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
Well yesterday I loaded up a bunch of tensioners in the truck and drove 2 hrs to Worcester,Mass.
To Meet Justin at Pirate Cycle's in person and hand deliver the first batch of tensioners.
I also met his brother Matt,a couple of class acts that know what they are talking about!
We hung out shooting the breese for a while and they gave me a tour.
Everywhere you turn there's something cool to look at.
There's a Felt Bultaco replica hanging on the wall with a worksman frame hanging behind it,there's a table full of sprockets and hub adapters with black powder coated worksman wheels next to that.
I looked at a bunch of sportscar Pat's stuff,Jim's stuff and so on and so on.
I could of spent hours. On the ride back I had a smile on my face the whole way, even though it took me an extra hr because of traffic.
I'm glad that I picked Pirate Cycle's to retail my tensioner's and happy that I met two stand-up guy's in the industry.
So Justin has the first batch of tensioners in the Pirate's Den and I'm sure he will hook you up even before he has them on his site!
Thank-You for your interest! Kip.

Been a few months since someone posted here, but I saw these listed on pirate cycles earlier; however, they don't have any in supply.

I'm really in need of something like this, as the default tensioner doesn't sit too well on my bike.

Any chance at getting one of these for less than $75? That's a bit much, and I imagine your capable of putting them out more quickly by now. I've seen a few similar items for around $35, but I like this design more. A direct purchase from you to me, cutting out the reseller fees, would be nice.

Just think of how many china-kits it will outlast, so it could be seen as an investment (bike humor). .crt.

Does this only work with the narrow chains? Since the mounting platform is sandwiched under the gear cover, it looks like you cannot use the fat chains.

Not tryin to be rude but why are these things so expensive?

They look cool but 75$ is way to much for me. especially for a tensioner

Thanks for making them tho
hopefully someone needs it really bad.

I would think that if you used it as an add on there would still be the same amount of space because the clutch cover comes out so far to acomidate the chain idler,(unless u trim the cover to size)
