For your avatar, up at the top of the board below the banner is User CP click on it.

In the Control Panel click on Edit Avatar..it's the 5th one down.

Click the small circle that says Use Custom Avatar

You have two options, Enter URL from another site or Upload Image from you PC
and then save changes

Another method of posting a pic without uploading it to another site is to attach it, then copy the attachment's link into a pair of IMG brackets. (Below)

This is my first build - 26" MTB, 66cc HT engine, billet aluminium hi-comp head, SBP low-profile air filter, SBP shift-kit, 'VELO Plush Recreational' comfy seat, 3L tank, centre-stand for kick-starting, Cateye halogen headlight, Cateye (wired) speedo, 'Mountain Mirrycle' mirror.
Over 450km so far and going strong.

Update: After these pics were taken, I added a 'Shimano MegaRange SuperLow' rear gear cluster, 'Shimano Tourney MegaRange' derailleur and 6-speed SIS grip-shift - super-low in 1st, overdrive in 6th.
I'd hate to admit how much this thing has cost me to build, especially since most parts were imported from the US.

Here's build No.1 1960's Western Flyer, 66cc, knobby tires....I rode it a few miles and the tires started to tear at the sidewall due to dry rot. Yes, I was a little too anxious to ride it to replace them when I first bought the bike.

I rode this one for about 750 miles before I sold it.
I ran out of gas once and pedaled it about 6 or 8 miles home. I didn't realize I could have just popped the master link and pedaled easy. I held the clutch lever in tight and it still dragged a little.

Nice setup, Ron. I'd kill for rear suspension. Next build.....
(I never originally planned another.)

The shift-kit/centre-stand combo was the best improvement so far.
I can kick-start on the centre-stand, let the bike warm up for a minute, then take off in 1st with only one turn of the pedals before dumping the clutch, at about 5mph.

The gears also satisfy the 'big kid' in me - I can play boy racer and pop little monos or power-slide the rear end in gravel.

Just noticed - is that a 'MegaRange' rear gear cluster?
I fitted a 'MegaRange SuperLow' cluster and derailleur along with a LHS grip-shift a few weeks ago. (The pics above were taken before I fitted them.)
Nothing like the super-low first gear and 6th is an overdrive.

I'm amazed to read that some have 8-9000 + miles on their engines. I would really like to go on an adventure this summer, just me, my bike and some camping gear...I feel more secure now about doing a 2000 km road trip

If you don't flog them and keep them maintained well, the engines will go for a long time.
The standard drive-train is the biggest problem. For a long trip, if you have a Chinese HT kit, the rear sprocket and tensioner must go.
A shift-kit is really the way to go, but otherwise a 'Manic Mechanic' sprocket or similar, along with a decent 2-point-mounted tensioner, if you need one at all.

On the other (unmentioned) site, augidog is planning a tour of the states, starting in May. You might be able to get together and compare experiences.
He's thinking along the lines of a trailer and possibly a generator.

This is actually my third mab but I don't have any pictures left of my first two. First was a dimension edge friction and second was a Currie electric. This bike has a Ryobi 4 cycle weedwacker motor and the pic was taken at Interbike in 2001. That little straight pipe sounded really loud in there!

John, I Bought The Yellow Dual Sus On Craiglist For $20. A Yr Ago, At The Time, I Had No Plans For It!! Sure Glad I Bought It Now!! I Bought Another Simular One Last Summer For $50 W/frt Disc. Ron . YES THAT IS THE 34 TOOTH LARGE SPROCKED ON REAR CASSETTE, OFF A TANDEM BIKE, THAT HOW I GOT THE WHITEWALL TIRES ALSO.

Ron[/QUOTE hey i have the grubee skyhawk 48cc wit the **** carb and i have never tried a shift kit build, are they relly worth the price of another motor kit? how amazing are they ,how fast can they go and how do they work most importantly where do i get one for cheap and a better carb????????
