Hello, excited to get started. have been reading posts on here for a week or more, got more and more excited and now I've got a 49cc on the way from zoombicycles... should get here middle of this coming week. Just need to decide on the bike that i want to put it on... leaning towards cruiser because I like the way they look.

I work as a carpenter and a welder, so i'm not real worried about getting the pieces together, although I'm sure to have questions. Cant wait to get to campus and classes every day without pedaling, or putting gas in the 32 gal tank of my bronco...

My original plan was to just put a motor on one of the many mtn bikes I have kicking around then I saw one on a cruiser and I knew that was the way to go. :)

Hello and welcome! My first build is a 49cc from Zoombicycles and it is on a cruiser frame. If you have coaster brake only, you can switch out your front fork with one that has a front brake and suspension.

Thanks for the welcome! I want to get this thing on the road as soon as possible, (let the tweaking begin!) so do you all have any suggestions on things I can get/prepare for when the motor shows up weds? Any "ground zero" standard mods that I can include in the initial bolt-together stage to save time?

Of particular interest are muffler quieting procedures... I want to be as quiet as I can. I've heard that wrapping the muffler with heat tape, then winding wire on it to retain the tape will stop the metal from 'ringing...' anybody tried that before?

Also, should I plan on fabricating some motor mounts myself? (vibration reduction) or do the stock ones typically do the job... how solidly do I want the motor attached to the frame?

The number one thing I would do (and will do on my next build) is leave the chain that comes with the kit in the package, go to the nearest TSC store and buy the 10' box of #41 chain. That was the best and cheapest improvement in reliability I've made on my bike.

You might want to put swap over to an automotive type of spark plug wire and a better spark plug. I use an NGK BP6HS plug. You're in for a lot of fun. Also, get yourself a helmet. Even a bicycle helmet is better than none at all. \

Hooray! Its on the road! The look on peoples faces as I stop pedaling halfway across the intersection and then continue up the hill nonchalantly spinning the pedals backwards is priceless! Had some trouble starting it, but found a post on here about the clutch cable being too tight... and not engaging all the way... that was it, now it starts whenever I want it to. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!
