I can't get the exact link but under 2 strokes, then under Starfire engines, there is an article about a new engine with an integral CDI. AWESOME!!! There are a lot of new features and I haven't seen talk of it here yet. This is really interesting and I hope to see it being sold soon. dance1 I know I'd buy one. Cheers.

Yeah I havnt been to his site for a while looks like there are a bunch of new stuff brewing. Let see who is going to sell them.

Yeah he has a lot more stuff on there. Somewhere on there is a FWD engine that I've never seen before that isn't sold in the U.S. but it's really cool.

great find! i want that "rat motor".
i hope my next motor doesn't have any bent fins like the one i received. my dad who has worked on ww2 radial engines all his life said there is nothing i could do to fix the bent fins. awww boo.

if its the motor i'm thinking of my supplier has one he is trying it out he sed they'll come avail. to him in the new year. intake manifold is a **** of alot smoother too, new design. i'm goin there tonight I'll try n get a few piccy's and more details. Looks pretty cool the spark lpug lead comes out where the wires to the coil come out just goes straight to the plug. I think the studs are further apart on the intake and exhaust compared to most of the motors out there too but I could be wrong.

really there should be some pics.... this kit really is a bit tough while installing... I heard many of buddies saying this.... there is less detail about this kits on web... the grubee website is only source!!!

I'd like to get one of those kits but where does one get a Skyhawk or Starfire brand Super Rat kit in Canada?? Blow By U doesn't list them...

In the part of the advertising I've screen grabbed they say "New Cylinder Coming 01-11". I'm confused as to if the bigger port is in the kits already available or if the next boat load will have the bigger port (?)

Can anyone confirm?

I think there is some advertising hype there. I was getting Zoom bike brand motors that were with the bigger exhaust ports for a year and a half back now. I think all the motors come that way now.

Really? WTH is with that (?) The last Zoom kit I got in the fall of 2010 had the 40mm exhaust stud hole spacing and the smaller port. I'm irked a bit with our Canadian suppliers because the last two kits I've purchased, one from Tsunami and one from Zoom, have had nasty nasty cranks and other oddities. I specifically purchased a Zoom kit too because I sold my "good" motor and the crank in the Tsunami kit I purchased to replace it was really bad. One crank I got fairly close to truth and welded it but still it's not very good. The other there is no hope for it at all. Kind of hoping the Skyhawk/Starfire cranks might be machined to a bit better tolerances and too I like the other features they are marketing. Will never know if it's all hype or not tho if I can't get one.

I think it depends on the latest boat load. My cranks were not perfect but they were not bad either. I think the only way to do any of these motors is to take them apart and clean them up. lol Personally I have yet to see even one of these motors with a crank properly balanced to my taste for the most part.

OK I missed that part in the pict I see it now that is a big improvement. I just looked at the port with the gasket covering it up. Small screen monitor at the moment. I was unaware we were at 40mm too.:o

Agreed...

My first Tsunami engine had a decent crank that trued up very nicely, seriously kicking myself for selling it and the steel Norco mountain bike frame it was attached to now! Icing on that cake is the guy I sold it too had it for maybe 2 weeks and killed it...forgot the must add oil to the gas part I told him about :-{

so aside from internal cdi and a bigger exhaust port, is there any real difference between this and the standard gt5?

Yes, the seals are better* the bearings are bigger* the fit is tighter* the mounts are wider* crankcase has different sealant* has a new head design* has more power* requires longer break-in*

*= Or so they say. ;)

You can find a comparison sheet at gasbike (link posted above) and more that has all this ino.

I suspect much of the more power claim comes from the fact that the exhaust port is larger as is the intake manifold. Likely the new CNS carb they are using is larger too in terms of ID...which kinda makes sense since the intake manifold's ID is larger. Hmm...wonder if they enlarged the intake port as well and altered the port timing to go along with the other changes? They omitted the use of a crankcase gasket in favor of a paste sealant so says the website.

I WANT ONE! :D

Anyone buy one of these yet? Anyone have any ideas whats new with the head? If someone has bought one or ends up buying one please post here and let us know how it goes. (like does it go up hills lol)
