Will this work?

For what engine? As for the Honda/Grubee 4 stroke....this happens to have started life as a Huffy Santa Fe, but mine is a men's frame, of course.

I use a different fork and replaced the wheels with Husky 11 ga spoke wheels.

Not only is it tougher to mount an engine in a step through frame, but you have to find a place to mount the fuel tank since there is no top tube. It's not a good choice for your first build.
 
i bought a huffy cranbrook at wally world for 89.00 the only mod that needed to be done was the front motor mount u can make one like i did or buy one for sbp
 
here r some pics of my cranbrook, the only changes i made was to replace the crappy metal fenders with polycarbonite ones from planet bike. i would do the same if u buy 1 of these bikes.and grease all bearings b4 riding motorized.
