...advertised as a 28" large frame, we get there and throw it in the back of the truck, pay the guy $25, and drive away.
Get it home, the tires are 26 x 1.75. Still, I could not find a cruiser for less money. I won't be pedalling it that much. My legs are just too long for a 26. I guess if I don't like it, I can keep looking and sell this and build another. I will be all in for less than $150. Not bad...

Well ... Huffy Cranbrook makes a great 2 stroke gas bike. I just completed a cranbrook recently, see a pick here.

Maybe it's not to late. If you can return it and get the larger bike you want.

The onyx has Longer wheelbase, 29" wheels with 48 spokes.
Standard Hub adapters will fit in your 48 spk rear
Front brake options are limited to squeezies, or sad to say - a new 36 spk wheel with a drum laced in. Here's my onex shows Disc Brake in front (Don't do it) Now has front drum.

You will need one of these also:

Whatever you decide, Good luck to you. I'll follow along and see how you do.

I have the same bike, a guy left it here after I put a kit on it in 2011. The rear brake is a weak point, I replaced mine with a Shimano hub. I'm 6'1" and if the seat is up a little the bike is tall enough for me, how tall are you?

Allen, that bike is awesome! I like how you mounted the coil and hid the wiring for a clean look. The retro style headlamp is cool too. I have concerns about an aluminum frame, but a new bike for that money is a good deal. It is hard to find a cheap used bike that will work with a gas engine - the ladies bikes won't work, the frame geometry on some of the mens versions isn't big enough to mount an engine, or they are too expensive. I will only spend 1/4 of what the bike cost new, there are so many bikes out here in the Phx area.
I will have to do something for a front brake. Quick and cheap seems to be a front rim brake (squeezies?). Why shouldn't I get disc, other than I have to lace it in (gad!).
My kit supposedly comes with a bigger engine mount. I read the reviews after I bought from Gas Bikes, but my shipment is already in Phx via FedEx. So far fast shipping....
Today I tear down the bike and grease all bearings with Bel Ray waterproof grease. Remove the grips. Adjust the seat.
This is my first build, so it is experimental and I don't want to throw a lot of money at it. If I like it, I probably will start to go crazy with better bikes, engines, and accessories. If I get 6 months out of this first one I will be satisfied. There are quite a few of these in Apache Junction where I live, mostly ridden by the poor.
I am 5'7", which is probably equivalent to 5'11 in a man, because we have longer legs.
I am already having fun with this hobby, though I have read bad things about Huffy and Gas Bike. I will do what I can for safety, so that if it does break while riding, I don't die.
Thanks for all the advice, I need it!

Yes Squeezies. Well, unless your fork has a disc caliper mount, welded or made on to it and your front wheel has a disc hub (which yours doesn't) I would not use a disc. If you go with the 26" Cranbrook Use the squeezies. Also I just realized... The link is for the rear set. Before you purchase be sure they are for the front.

Thanks Allen, the front brake will arrive Wed. I may even get a rear, I forgot if the pedal chain breaks there is no coaster brake.
The engine kit is out for delivery today!
