We always brazed the pickup tube in on race car engines for that reason.

Who ever did this one had drilled the heads of the bolts but didn't safety wire them. The owner came to Pampa and fixed it and got an instructor here to check him out in the plane. I never flew it again. I like Lycoming....
 
Just some bits of plastic and cardboard in a happy time engine once. Another time, a HT engine had only one piston ring. The second ring was no where to be found.
