I have a Huffy Cranbrook with a 48cc Skyhawk engine. Now my question is what do i expect out of my engine as far as speed goes? I am starting to break it in at 30 mph. I have bout 20 miles on it.

Consider yourself fortunate. Now sit back and enjoy the ride. It is a bicycle. Keep that in mind. 30mph, if that is accurate, is better than most people get so relax.

Wasnt trying to outdo anyone. I just didnt really know what to expect. And my speed was calculated by a car speedometer. Just wanted to know if the performance level was normal or not thank you very much.

These engines do around 25-28mph during breakin and 28-32mph after.
I wouldn't worry about speed, its the stopping that counts.
And make sure to keep your bike maintained.

Yes keep everything well greased, everything good and tight, and like was said above BRAKES BRAKES BRAKES.........! It's not so much the go-in that will get you in a bad jam, It's the stopping the go-in that will get you hurt or dead if the brakes aint what they should be, rear brake good....! front brake a must in order to have quick stops if needed and just an overall good reliable safe bike.
