yeah, weird that with all the advances in transportation, we still have to drive on dirt roads. seriously, what's next, motorcycles with pedals? that's so 1900's...:)

Neil, that's awesome that you've got Interlube as a sponsor. it'd be great if motorbicycles could give them the push they need to break out into the mainstream...

I'm in and buzzed 'bout the new 'Entry Level Class'. Us regular folk or anyone just wanting to give motorbike racing a whirl can now afford to. It'd be great to see friction drives, belt drives, adapted wacker motors, ect... Rather than build a 'uni-task' race bike, just bring your street transportation with minimum mods. Or bring a 2nd bike and join in.

Sub 50cc 4stroke or <2K electric bike will transport you to some close encounters out on the Grange Topsy Turvy Black Top. Some of the tamer cruisers have run low 20's, yet Nash Moto ran a sizzling 35mph even pace pushing some of the fiesty 2strokers.

My new challenger is a black/red 24" folder, complete w/ lights, horn, fenders, stock bike tires and kickstand! Should turn 32mph with modest torque, can't wait to see how it fairs against a Honda w/ Nuvinci hub.
r.ly.

do most people camp or do you recommend hotel?

So what about 2 strokes less than 48cc (weedwacker engines)?
Can they race?
Yes, they certainly can race or cruise on the track at Grange! :)

Any small less than 50 cc weed wacker, friction drive, rack mounts or
any other configurations like Golden Eagle / GEBE would be in the

Under 1500? watt eBikes are going to be included in this class too!

There is a place for ANY kind of motorized bike that is here on this forum
even if they aren't on the list below.

Second 2012 race on Sat June 2nd Maybe we will run the
track in reverse which would be clockwise just to keep everyone on their toes.

Fourth race on October 20th just like we did last year when the weather is just about perfect out in the desert.

There will be a practice run at the end of the Sat April 7th race to try reverse running the track.

BigBoy,

Game On, Race On! I'm cobbling together a tidy e-commute/fun bike (complete w/ fenders & kickstand) that should run 'bout 31-32mph at Grange. Isn't that about your speed?? Heard good ole' MBR plans to ride a small 4stroke entry and I have 2 friends with a realistic chance of entering the "small motors" class. There's gonna be enough entrants in your class to dice it up.

Jasanabia, bring on the 'weed wackers' there's never enough cheap innovation!

Now, whad'da 'ya think of a 100' pedal start, no throttle pedal only 'till we cross a line painted 100' out? Not sure how you and others would view this, and I'm by no means committed to this concept. Just seems fun and a bit more bicycle, could be a hoot for spectating.

Will Nash Moto be running?

See you and all true competitors on the track,
#140 Smoke aka SoSauty (no longer #105)

There's gonna be enough entrants in your class to dice it up.

Jasanabia, bring on the 'weed wackers' there's never enough cheap innovation!

Now, whad'da 'ya think of a 100' pedal start, no throttle pedal only 'till we cross a line painted 100' out? Not sure how you and others would view this, and I'm by no means committed to this concept. Just seems fun and a bit more bicycle, could be a hoot for spectating.

Will Nash Moto be running?

See you and all true competitors on the track,
#140 Smoke aka SoSauty (no longer #105)

Not all MB are pedal start but sounds vary interesting

sounds great, I love that track. Although i didn't know we drove on dirt roads anymore.
It's the best track in SoCal and you know it. :)

Just a reminder to everyone to not pay attention to your GPS or
Google maps. When you get off at Exit 157 / Stoddard Wells do not
make any turns until you get to Central Rd where you turn South to
the Grange track.
Follow the map on the first page and below and you won't get lost
like Bigboy! :D

The road turns into a well graded gravel road which looks like this
when you crest a slight rise and see the track below.

It is really beautiful out there and I am camping Friday and Saturday night.

All Track Riders under 18 Years of Age must have a
Parent or Guardian sign their waiver.

There is no limit on racers age but anyone under 16 years
old should contact me before the race day of April 7th.

I really don't see a problem with riders as young as 12 under
the right circumstances.

There will be no extra charge to race a second bike in
another class.

Jim Granger of Grange Motor Circuit is the friendliest and
most accommodating race track owner in Southern California
which is why SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing has the track from
sunrise to sunset on Sat April 7th.

That's 12 hours of practice, racing and just cruising around
the most challenging course in SoCal and don't forget the
moon light track ride on Friday night!

We will also be test riding the track in reverse which is
clock wise at the end of the day for anyone that sticks
around after the prize ceremony of some custom trophies.

PS: There will be a hot chick waving the start and finish
flag and if you crash and burn she will patch you up too! :D

PPS: www.ArrowMotorizedCycles.com is casting some very
cool aluminum plaques for prizes out of big race pistons.
More to be announced about that soon.

Only 71 days to go .........
