Fenton Zip sidecar

The last picture, the motorcycle portion with the side car is like a slightly beefed up bicycle frame. Given if I had a shop to work on modding my bike to have one of these, I probably could afford a manufactured one. Just not as much fun. Try to tell some people that, and they do a bobble head.

That lovely bike is an original, restored 1935 TS-100 Triumph & I'd say the sidecar is right at the same age it's a Zip "juvenile" model car. The 2 cycle Fichtel & Sachs 98 cc (2.5 hp) looks amazingly similar to a China girl. motor. Rick C.

The China girl is a late mark of the Soviet D- motors, which were postwar. There was a postwar plant manufacturing a complete prewar German bike including the Sachs engine somewhere in the old red empire. Whoever designed the D- will most likely have been strongly influenced by both the Sachs and the ILO 98cc engines.
