Shortening chain

Sure, Just use a Dremel tool with a stone and grind both pins
on one side of the link, take a punch or pry the link apart.

hello. i did the same thing but with out the dremel. i just vised it then got the punch. once you get it moving your home free.

I don't own a dremel so I'll just buy a multi-tool from the local bike store that comes with a chain tool. Thanks for the help guys

I just laid mine flat on a piece of wood, and struck it with a punch/ awl and drove the pin out.......

adding to that drill a small hole in the wood so the pin has a place to go :)

if anyone asks what you want for x-mass or b-day say Dremel!

The chain tool for a bicycle chain is too light weigh for the 415 roller chain. It will probably break!

I have a Dremel...and I would not think of grinding a pin. First, it is not necessary. A punch is all you need. Second, if you do not grind, you can refuse the link and pin if you want to- with grinding, you risk the pin working out over time.
