Shift kit on older bike

Hello, I am trying to install a shift kit on my motorized bike but I have an older bike with a single crank assembly that does not appear to work with the kit I bought (crank housing is larger and does not have thread). Do they make shift kits for older bikes or am I SOL? Thanks.

Sick bike parts.com makes adaptors. Knock out your bearing ring and install adaptor.
