I also wanted to say thank you to Neil for putting on this event. I had so much fun that it will last me months from now with warm feelings.
Special shout out to Turkman for giving me a ride to this event. I literally couldn't have made it there without you. I also had much fun hanging out with CCC, dmb, msrfan, samford&son, oppania, headtrama, bairdco, and everyone else.

I crashed and dnf'd on all three races I ran. My rebuilt engine had a lot more power than last time, and I got drunk on dreams of being a contender, so I pushed my driving limits a little too far. I was especially excited in the final though. I purposefully lagged to the very back of the pack in the beginning, telling myself I would take it easy and finish this one and also avoid any early lap pile ups. But then after lap 2 or three, I got the passing fever. First I passed a couple of mopeds that had motors probably half the size of mine. This got my blood pumping. I then passed couple more riders in the back and I was on fire (in my own mind). I then passed msrfan and then oppania in a crazy move onto the outside stripey part of the little back straight before the final hairpin that leads into the main straight. Now I was over the top crazy in the racing zone. I figured out that I could hold full throttle through this back section of the track right after the little uphill turn. I got passed the Joker Machine guys, but then I leaned really hard into this sweet spot I found and my bike slid out. It was like a real motorcycle race crash I was sliding on the track in slow motion and tumbling over sliding on my back looking at the sky, finally coming to rest in a cloud of dust in the dirt off the track. It was totally awesome!
I got this big old scratch on my helmet from sliding on pavement. I'll have to take a picture. I didn't get hurt really, just a few scrapes on my elbow from rubbing on my leather jacket too hard.

Anyway, I will never forget the thrill of thinking I was a contender, even though I never finished one race. It was great and all you guys are great for attending and making it happen.

Been wanting to build a bike that looks good, practical for fun rides, and is raceable. I've overlooked the mid-size 4stroke class, which no one should do.

On the line I was immediately intimidated by the gorgeous Joker bikes (and others) alongside of me. Exquisite painting, curvatious lines, and a throaty rumble to match.

Mope #169 led way out there with 1M:24sec laps before pulling off, have to guess newcomer Mope from Ventura ran around 1m:26seclaps, congrats Matthew!

Rather easy going riders, no funky monkey out there. Thanks for making me feel welcome running in your class. Only staved off #187 mope coming up from behind by pedalling harder than I can ever remember, sore today..
Congrats on your 3rd place finish in the Mid Range class on your eRacer!

Considering that the 50 cc 4 stroke MotoPed in front of you in 2nd had a 4 speed gearbox
you sort of came in 2nd.
However, Dale the owner of Shuttle Buddy put the MotoPed in 3rd and left it there
for most of the race so he was essentially a single speed legal bike and he does have
moped plate on the bike. :)

Thanks Will, for bringing the flags and score sheets to the race as always and
contributing as much as you do.

Hey, whoever walked off with one of the yellow flags please bring it back!!!

Thanks Everyone for a great 2012 racing season! I hate that its over, and we have to wait 6 months for another event! We never did finish a race after april at grange, but we'll keep coming back. It was definitely nice to augment the asphalt racing with the dirt track. I'll stop clangin the bell after this post, but I reiterate- the dirt track is a blast, and less damaging to the bikes for sure. as a guy who has constant bike troube, I am proof. finishing every dirt race this season, and not one street race. well, my first race at grange on a stock cruiser.
Anyway, Thanks for a great season and we'll see ya next year!

Every year there is a heat wave in January. usually last two weeks. Perhaps a race? any takers?

More like 5 months at least for the next Grange race on April 13th 2013

Sorry, but the weather before April is really risky and not that good for racing.

Good to see ya at the track and your run of bad luck has to get better next year!

Sorry, that you had bike problems at the race........

Jim Granger and his wife Donna at their newly opened Pizza joint.

Cross Eyed cow Pizza in Oro Grande.

scotto, me and gf ate there on Friday night.
The Hippy Vessey pizza was delicious but hold the spicy peppers.

The rock on the rope that Jim is holding is the counter weight for the door!!! LOL
Jim is a contractor and built the place as well as building the track at Grange.

Will's ebike did really well in the Mid range class.
