Silly from the outside? I am willing to bet that most people perceive a really desirable vintage motorcycle. You have a machine there to be proud about, not apologetic.

I'm currently working on a 1930's era bicycle have got a good set of new AS7 wheels stainless 12 gauge spokes with Nexus 3 speed 66 cc 2 stroke and jack shaft. I'm limited to what I can do far as tools and machine work but I've been able to link the shift kit with a decent quality chain set and now working on brakes.The bike was a bare frame when I'd got it and was very difficult to work with but it's a rare bike uncommon have seen very few ..Hope to complete before Christmas.
