I built 2 of these 29ers. If you use 6 of the 9 bolts the sprocket fits fine. You have to trim the dust shield to fit inside the center hole. Just start with everything loose and use a criss cross pattern when tightening a little at a time. I use a rubber mallet to coax the sprocket to center, and keep spinning the wheel to check true-ness.

Hey Ron what is the best way and tool to trim the dust cover...thanks
I feel this is the best, others may not agree. I don't trim the dust cover, I enlarge the hole in the sprocket. I use a drill press, a ream and 2 clamps. This way when I place the sprocket over the dust cover it is centered. Some use a Dremel tool, but I wanted to keep the dust cover intact... why? to do its intended job. Contact me at motorbicycle00@gmail and I'll forward what I just sent to a member about the same question. Bevel the teeth on both sides while you are at it. Helps on chain alignment with the sprocket.
