Piston Ring Gap Alignment?

Hello: Does anyone know Exact Way,that the piston end gaps go? Toward the Exhaust port,
or the intake? i had a mark on the darn thing, & washed it off!! One person said toward intake,
but on other motor he had it was on the exhaust? So now im not sure!!

no matter what anyone says, since every manufacturers specs vary a bit, make sure the gap isn't facing a port opening. if it is, the ring could hang up on the port and snap.

it should be pretty simple to eyeball it.

there should be i little tit in the groove that the ring stops on to keep it from spinning

These are the pins that hold the rings where they belong.

The arrow mark on the piston should face forward on the bike. Yes observing the rings and there arrangement they should never be aligned in a manner to snag a port.

anybody know how big the end gaps are? I have around fourty thousands
