Todays oils are not formulated to work well with our whizzer motors.
I'd like to share 3 different ways that I have found to be very helpful for our motors.
1st being with Lucas oil additive. (Good), helps for when motor has sat for a while(dry start)
2nd is Shell Rotella t6. Comes 5w-40 Ya I know (diesel)
(Better) for us air cooled motors.
3rd and (Best) is Torco ZEP Zinc additive.
Zinc is purposely left out of our oils to be exhaust emission friendly, its bad for catalytic converters.
ZEP coats and acts like a thermal coating, protecting from premature motor(parts)wear.
(Friction reducing)
There's no real way or better way to protect the cam and lifters.
Helps in lowering operating tempertures.
Hope this info is helpful
