Hey everyone. So I recently purchased and installed a new "performance" carb and a carbon fiber reed intake valve on my 100cc 2 stroke bike engine. Both boasted more torque and higher top speeds. Since ive installed my bike has had considerably less power. Will not stay running idle no matter where the idle screw is positioned, and the exhaust is also making a rapid "clapping" or higher pitched "farting" sound at full throttle and top speed. I was thinking maybe too much air or not enough fuel getting in through reeds possibly? What do you guys think? Accepting all ideas lol Thank you!

As a general rule, when you add a reed valve to one of these little engines, you need to throw gas at it!!! (Install a bigger main jet)

Another thing that's almost mandatory for the reed valve to work at it's best is to cut a window in the piston & cut a 3rd transfer port in the cylinder wall.

Could someone possibly explain the "boost bottle", racing carb, reed valve and expansion exhaust in relation to eachother? I read that these things are required, together, to get the most outtve all of the items/parts i just mentioned. i did not install boost bottle yet. i was told that boost bottle are supposed to come pressurized and filled with a higher octane gas. Mine came empty and hollow.

I have had good results from porting and a expansion chamber, I recommend the two stroke tuners handbook and Graham Bells book to help improve your two stroke.
