I'm rebuilding a vintage Firestone wheel with a New Dimension Model 3 hub, but cannot figure out how to remove the sprocket. As the attached photo shows, it doesn't have a c-shaped snap ring. Would appreciate info.

Loosen that collar. Could be left hand threads ?

Yup... That collar is reverse threaded.

Does the sprocket scew on also, like a skiptooth?......Curt

The collar is left hand thread and needs a spanner wrench. I've used channelocks with some success. Then you put the sprocket in a vise and turn the whole wheel counter clockwise to unscrew the sprocket. It's really tight. The slot in the sprocket is to be able to remove and replace the spokes without disassembly.
