Hey... I'm Jean and recognized your sit by contingency. I love Bikes in this style. Here is mine:

Technical details:
- tuned 66ccm motor
- racing exhaust pipe
- Amal-carburator 18
- cylinder head of german "Simson"-Motorcyclefactory
- 10 bevel wheel
- 32 sprocket
- 26'er bicycle frame
- runs fast on flat roads (need soft wind from behind and pub in vision )
- IT REALLY WORKS!!!! (83,9 km/h ; 52,13 mph)

Hey...

I'm from Eberswalde near Berlin. Where are you from? The tank is an old chinese original (ca. 3 galones). It's one tank.

I'm from Neumuenster in Schleswig-Holstein, i'm looking forward about another member from our country, so i'm not the only one...
how do you think about to legalize that bike to ride it on our streets ?
i often think about this chinese engines, but you know, ABE and TÜV...
For this reason, i have an old Zuendapp Combimot, so there is no trouble in sight^^
what type of hub do you use in the rear ? is it an old Fichtel & Sachs ?
i'm using a F & S special made for motorized bicycles, the sprockets are screwed-on the hub directly.
It wouldn't be nice to our american friends if we're talkin in german, so PM me, if you want.

The bike looks great with that head and expansion chamber.. I'm curious about what type of expansion chamber that is? Can that 'Simson' head be purchased? If so Where can I get one?

No question, your bike is very awesome ! but if it runs really 83,9 Km/h, you should think about a better chain tensioner !

by the way : is that rear sprocket from an MAW engine ?

yes it is a MAW-pinion have drilled and installed a shelf.
The original roller (plastic), I do not like.
Works very well, even at high speed.
I have the extra-constructed and thought out.
still have pictures of MAW-tuned engines (auxiliary bicycle engine).

but that's a nice idea for a next project, an MAW ! next week is in brokstedt a big swapmeet (Teilemarkt), i'll take a look at this engines.
you should open an own thread for your MAW's, before we start to hijack this Express-thread !

I would recommend a book on bicycle auxiliary engines.
Unfortunately, it is only in German, but the pictures tell the whole story.
The (ISBN 978-3-86133-494-1) is below the number to have the book.
It costs € 19.90.

Here is a picture of a MAW engine. Have been built in 1954 in East Germany. (In West Germany was the original engine was built the name of AMO. It is very rare to find.)
He has 1PS min / at 3600 rpm.
39.9 mm bore and 40mm stroke, 49.9 cc.
