I have built 5 66 happy times :)
but all my happy times turned me into coughing time from all the smoke once i start them up!
they are all running 25:1 with normal 2 stroke oil!

i tryed rasing the c clip and lowering it, but still the same results,
even emptyed all the tanks and the carbs and put fresh mixes in there.
same results!
lately its been abit cold around here..

any ideas why this is happening?
 
Are they tuned properly?
Have you tried using less oil say 32 to 1?
The synthetic oils will smoke less or hardly any smoke most of the time. If you mix them correctly. I use Polan ( 2 stroke oil) synthetic at 40 to 1 it works good for me. Very little smoke. I also run the cheap low octane gas.
 
what do you mean tuned properly? :P
they run, idle, accelerate, and honestly, i dont really know, it works so i guess it is?
i didnt have the guts to increase it to 32:1 as i thought it would of been not enough oil and since its only had less than 1L through it.
 
25:1 is oil rich and bound to produce smoke, no matter what type 2-stroke oil you use.
 
ive been looking for opti 2 in australia, it seems like no one sells it, and when i find it, they want a arm and leg for it (no way i am paying $55 for 1L of it)
i will try and run 32:1 on my bikes :)
 
I think going with less oil in the mix will help and not hurt it at all. The 20 to 1 is just too much oil.
