Maytag on steroids

Here is a motorcycle with a boxer engine, but the cylinders are front and back, like an old Maytag engine. More info at the link. You don't want to know how much it costs.

Cool, a $187,066 flat-twin motorcycle.

I wonder how many BMW flat-twins that could buy?

Heck, I wonder how many Honda flat-fours or flat-sixes that could buy? rotfl

Wow, that's a serious price.

Nah, if I wanted a 2 cylinder sport bike I'd get a Ducati. A 90 degree config still has a perfect primary balance.

Eventually I'll get a BWM 2 cylinder boxer. I'm getting the lust for an R1200 RT and they're only $18,000 list.

I just love motorcycles - :)

I like the Ducati engine layout too. Ducati's actually look like bargain bikes compared to that Midual. That would buy almost 20 of the 696 Monsters.

I know something only slightly more affordable. Pur Sang of Argentina builds pretty exact replicas of old Indian 8-valve twins. http://www.pursangweb.com/

It's a matter of taste, I know. But I'd rather have one of those than the twin boxer up there any day.

There was an Indian equivalent. My understanding is that they were inspired by the Douglas, but unlike Douglas, they dropped them when the rear cylinders overheated.
