Matthews Trike

Anyone heard of, or seen a Matthews trike? One just arrived at my shop today.

It has a 3 speed Shimano hub, and coaster brake. It's in ratty condition, but it can be a winner. When it warms up, I'll take some pics.

I googled Mathews trike and found out it was made by Bill Mathews who made a lot of accessories for high rise bicycles in the 60's.

Thanks for the link Fasteddy, I did find out that the model I have is an Idlewild ser#13304.

Have to finish the Bremen Flyer before I can start on the trike. I'd like to lower the seat and have a lower center of gravity. Then, maybe I'll see how I can motorize it. It already has an electric front wheel drive, don't know how good the motor is, but we'll see later.

Scrollerguy, they are out there, I've only seen one though, and they are short and narrow. Pretty sketchy at 30mph

Well, to start this build, I extended the trike 10". That should be more than enough. Now to widen the stance. More to follow.
