living the dream in southern california
talking to some guys, i was wondering if anyone wants to help out with a Long Beach ride.

I heard there was a big one starting at El Dorado Park a while back.

i'm not that familiar with Long Beach, as far as Motorbikin' goes, so if any locals wanna plot out a nice route, that'd be cool.

I still wanna do an OC ride, but seeing as how we gotta avoid Newport Beach unless everyone's 100% legal, sober, and obeying every law, it's not gonna happen.

i know there's a ton of people around OC, LB, and LA that'd show up, so lemme know if anyone's interested...

Name a date and it will happen.

The first weekend I have free is April Sat 2nd or Sun 3rd
That gives us a bit more than 3 weeks to organize and promote.

We can meet at the free area of El Dorado park and start a ride
from there

There is a free skate board park, tennis courts, etc in the free area.

You can pedal a bicycle into the paid area of El Dorado for free
which is to the north of Cerritos Ave / Spring St
There is a big nature walk too.

over 40 bikes showed , now the rides are better and better but that was the mother of all turn-outs.

Are you and the LA gang showing up?

Thinking about riding down Studebaker to PCH then down to Huntington Beach
on the very wide bike path then returning to the park.

A nice ride along the beach.......

I'd only be able to make it out there if my brother goes. I don't have a problem riding to Long Beach, but I do have a problem with riding back from there at night lol
Hey M8
I hope Chris can make it, the more 4 strokes the better!

El Dorado Park is just on the west side of the 605 freeway.
It's really just on the west of Los Alamitos

We can meet at 10 to 11am so the ride will be over
way before dark.
Maybe start the ride at 12 noon???
I think we have lots of late risers and Baird will be hung over lol

The starting location on the map is one of the entrances to where we will
enter the free area of El Dorado off N Studebaker Rd.
We will actually be in the green area just above Willow St which turns into Katella Ave
on the east side of the 605

There are small roads that only show on the satellite map.
The big green area south of Willow is the golf course

Check out the Google map of the 27 mile ride.

Here are a couple of pics from the last meet at El Dorado park.

It would be a great thing if someone could print some maps of the route we'll be riding to hand out to everyone!
On our last ride, a new guy broke down for a minute & had no idea where everyone went; so he turned around & went home. :(

That's a good idea.
However this route is so simple......
Straight down Studebaker with a little jog to the right on Westminster Ave,
then left on south PCH
to our turn around in Huntington Beach

If anyone breaks down on the way south we can pick them up on the way back.

Also will be publishing some contact cell numbers for any break downs or getting lost.

PS: Please bring and wear a DOT looking helmet if you are going to ride with the group.
It's a $300 ticket and we really don't want the group getting messed up if
you get pulled over. Huntington Beach cops are giving out helmet tickets but
no one will be bothered if everyone has helmets and isn't too obviously drunk.

Baird won't even get a speeding ticket as PCH is 55 mph?

We are not going as far as Newport Beach so license plates will not be an issue.

Reverse pre- ride is now Friday 2.45pm
