Just got the CHD66 expansion chamber but just a small problem...

It fits on my engine/frame just fine, but where its supposed to bolt up to the clutch side of the case doesn't line up. What can I do to fix this?

If you don't want to try and persuade it into position by bending it, you can always fabricate a short adapter bracket

Maybe fine tuning the engine position a little will make it line up

I'll try adjusting the engine position a bit first, if that doesn't help I'll see about trying to bend it. I guess worst case scenario, I could loop and zip tie through it. I'll mess with it more on Friday after work.

Adjusting the motor should make no difference, the pipe is entirely attached to the block itself so you can slide that motor around as much as you want but I don't think it's going to do no good.

I took a 5/8 boxed end wrench and put it over the tab and just bent it into place. You making this harder than it needs to be.

As VMB said bend it, I’ve had to bend every one I’ve installed, there will be slight variations from on engine to another on the same bike. I’ve had to make adjustments when changing the piston and cylinder.

Ok... so I hope this isn't taken as a stupid or pointless question but do I need a torch to bend it or just use like a pair of pliers?

That brace is not that thick and is easy to bent, I’ve had the weld break and have had to weld a second brace on, I add the second brace to the silencer and mount it to the fender mounting hole.

Here one on a bike I sold.

No it's bent cold. If you just take a closed end or box end wrench and slide it over the strap that attaches to the case you can bend it forward and backwards and in and out very easily. If you don't know what a box end wrench is Google it so you can see what I'm talking about.
