Introduction and mini build threat

Hi from Plainfield NJ
Just got first motorized bike, already assembled by someone else and im the third owner since the kit was installed (Seeutek Pk80 clone kit)
tbh i havent even started it yet lol but because I wanted to do some mods to make it reliable and also to not make it look like heap of junk that it looked like before i modded it, was gonna finish putting the engine in today but the garage/workshop was needed so its gonna have to wait, probably for the better that way I wait until the head and pull start come in, Why the pull start you may ask? glad you didnt ask, because im too broke to buy a jackshaft kit so im gonna weld the sprocket to the left side of the pedal jackshaft (yes ill have to remove the pedals, ill weld some pegs somewhere tho) and that way I can use the gears, i wont be able to start it using motion so hence the pull start, I also need to come up with a way to mount the engine without damaging the paint

You can kind of see that the tube of the frame that houses the seat tube is black unlike the rest of the frame which is white, this is because I had to weld it since the previous owner, for reasons known only to himself (and maybe not even that), decided to cut it and install the black tube except it was just loose, hanged there by the seat tube and inside the bottom part of the tube that he left.

Was gonna leave the blue but ran out and despite what it looks like it still needed another coat so i grabbed the green thinking it would look closer to blue but once it dried i realized it was indeed not blue, however i tried to make it work by fading it in the back and leaving the front of the front forks blue kind of like a fish which is one color on the top and then fades to another on the bottom, looks better in person i swear, I also want to do a pattern on main triangle and the seat tube I just dont know what to do, Ill do my last name on a cool font in the bottom tube and im thinking of doing those cartoon lines with sharpie that people do kind of like this,

Bike looks really good. Nothing more enjoyable than coming behind someone else who made some of the most questionable "Modifications" possible then they sell the bike. If the bike doesn't have pedals it is now, as far as the law types are concerned, a motorcycle and must be registered and licensed as one and since you're in New Jersey I'd guess your time on the road would be very short.

Add up the fines for an unregistered vehicle with no insurance and if you don't have a motorcycle endorsement on your drivers license which I would imagine you will need, the cost of a jack shaft will be a lot less that the shaft you will get in court. Check with your local police department to be certain.

H fastedddy! Glad you like the bike, and its not even finished yet.
When you mentioned the part about selling the bike is that what happened to you? if so why'd you sell it after modifying it?
Im glad you brought up the illegal part of the bike because the way the pegs re gonna work is they are gonna be foldable crank arms like these https://hightailebikes.com/products/pegale
or at least thats the idea, so I can have pegs and remain legal as a moped, either way previous to this bike I had a go kart i ripped in the street and the cops not only didnt give me problems but even asked bout it gave me thumbs up and i had a cop driving behind me on the street for five minutes and he didnt say anything, Idk what you know about Plainfield but you should know the cops have way bigger fish to fry

Hi SLM,

No, I'm the guy who bought the hacked up cars and motorcycles that someone started and realized they were in deeper that they wanted to be. Some were parts and some were repairable. The pegs/pedals look great but pricey.

I live in a coastal city in British Columbia, Canada called White Rock. It's 25 miles South of Vancouver. I'm two blocks from the Pacific Ocean and 10 minutes from the U.S. border. However I lived in the U.S. for twenty five years. Part of it in New Hampshire and up state N.Y. and I have heard of Plainfield N.J.

In most anywhere in Canada you wouldn't last long without pedals on a bike and we are not allowed to have gas motors on bicycles. Electric only and not more that 500w and 32km/20mph. Last time I heard of someone here in B.C. with a gas motor on a bike paid a $5,000 dollar fine. There was some street hooligan involved as well but they tabbed him for the motor. As for a Go Kart on the road, I'm sure there would be some jail time as well. They would be on you faster than a hen on a June Bug

lol you must get some great deals then, Also Im pretty new to modifying bikes (aside from the below mentioned) so genuinly id love to know if the modifications I make are questionable, i come from being into cars where anything goes pretty much as long as you do it for yourself not others.

i know they're pricey but thats why im making some myself, Im an engineering student so I have access to my school's workshop including printers, cnc machines, welding machines nd all of that so aside from material it seems pretty realistic to me, its not my first build either, i did a gx200 clone powered MTB with full suspension too, same way as this, powering the front left side of the shaft to use the gears, worked great but i used the engine for a go kart so that one is no longer with us, besides, i have always been of the opinion that two wheels should hv two strokes and four wheels four strokes, not really any logic behind it but it just sounds cool lol. But point being I do not believe im in over my head, only problem will be time to work on it, like i said, im studying.

Also yes I agree, the fines for it would be hefty, however like I said, cops didnt seem to care about me strolling about in a go kart so why would they care about a powered bicycle, I think cops care more about how you do things, that guy probably only got stopped cause he was being stupid, I use hand signals, wear a helmet and gloves and long sleeves at least, and I keep to the speed limit and obv i dont go where there are too many cars either so ill be plenty fine with a bike, like i said, plainfield cops hv bigger fish to fry and at the end of the day who doesnt like these bikes?
