the main reason i used the rag joint is i wanted to build up the bike as the "introductory" model. using most of the kit parts, i was gonna price this at $1000. then the price would increase with the upgrades.
now it looks like this is the "never gonna build another one and i can't wait to get it out of my sight so it doesn't remind me that i got screwed" model.
another note on the rag joint, it is functional, just a pain. the way i did this one to (mostly) clear the Fat Franks, is i put the sprocket dished side out, then 2 half moon plates, then the rubber, spokes, rubber, half moons.
having the extra plates behind the sprocket gives you a little bit more clearance.
