How wide is too wide?

Can someone tell me the measurement for these motors from the rear mount to the front mount? I am trying to find out before I go and buy a used cruiser of craigslist. I really don't feel like fabbing up a custom front mount and would like both motor mounts to fit in the frame. Thanks in advance...
 
Here's a frame guide that I got from somewhere.
It is for the Chinese 2-strokes.
After the guide was made, the Chinese now offer engines with wider front mounts.
I think (be careful here) that the wider mount will fit 1 1/2" down tubes without an adapter, but they will not fit a frame with a 1" down tube without some home brewed spacer.

Thanks for the help. What I am looking for is the measurement on the motor itself from rear mount to front mount...
 
I can't measure straight across because the bottom of the engine gets in the way, but using a flexible ruler I got 5 7/8".
