You can expect problems... we just like to keep them to a minimum.

Al_fisherman and a number of others have put up great threads for preliminary work to be done with the kits so they are close to reliable.
Best to read through a bunch of threads, then post your problem if you are unable to resolve it from the common info ...

I second rustycase's suggestions.
If you just try to slap an engine onto the bicycle you will end up hating them.
They are alot of fun when done up correctly.
