Ever since I did my first gas bike kit installation I have been searching for ways to get rid of tell tale gas tank and now I think I have found it. The Water Bottle Tank!

Now the next problem is to find that perfect place to mount it.....any ideas welcome.

Nice, I personally just want one that is a bit more low slung over the top tube, the factory one reminds me too much of that thing Harley puts on the sportster.

I know a few racers like Bairdco has use this method in the past. They don’t need the extra weight.

What size hole did you drill for the petcock. I’ve got a leak in the stock gas tank and I’d rather not buy another dud

I just measured the petcock thread diameter and used one of those step drills to make a hole in the bottom of the bottle, liberally smeared JB Weld to the threads and around the hole inside and out, then screwed the petcock firmly into the tank. I have been checking it regularly and so far no sign of a leak.

Many years ago, I used those aluminum bottles as fuel tanks, as well as reserve tanks. I drilled the thick plastic cap and threaded 6" of fuel line into the bottle. The cap had a tiny vent hole, so the tank worked ok.
In fact, I was looking for a less obvious fuel tank for my 212 build. I just might paint one black, install a one-way vent and strap it under the top frame.

That would be cool, weed eater type filter, small 1/8” line more then enough gas flow. And like weed eater they don’t seem to leak...........Curt
