Update on my electric bike build. After waiting a month on a back ordered rear wheel I have finally given up and ordered all the parts, (double threaded hub, spokes, nipples, double wall rim, and 26x2 tire. Gets a little pricey when you build your own wheel. So much for seeing how much I could save by building my own.

Staton has nice wheels and hubs.

The Currie hubs are steel or aluminum. The steel ones tend to break spokes.

I personally use a Staton hub and it works very good.

I had already checked Staton. They are also out of the wheel set up with the double threaded hub. I see they do have the hub with left and right threads for $90.00.

I finished up my first E-Bike. Never did get the back ordered rear wheel so I laced up my own. Everything seems to work the way it's supposed to. I Wanted to take it for a test ride, but with -10 wind chill and streets covered with snow I decided that would have to wait.
