EZR's 2nd full suspension Project

whats the top speed on your mountain bike? does this have a transmission?

Thanks

Top speed with a 56 tooth rear sprocket is roughly low to mid 30's but with a 47 tooth sprocket its mid 40's. It doesn't have a transmission just a Centrifugal clutch.

Re: Better Quality Pictures

I took a small break from work today and stopped by the shop. Dean finished a couple of things today. One being the rear brake.

The Pipe.

One more step closer. Here's a couple pictures of the expansion chamber. Its a center bleed that is routed into the frame. The heat shield still needs to be put on but Dean will do it after the testing.

Here's the top view. As you can see, the stinger is attached to the top tube of the frame with a high temp hose.

We got her up and running today! Dean decided to change the derailer to an 8 speed derailer which worked the best. I brought over the tank today and Dean mounted it to the forks. Pedaling good feels like a regular bicycle. The bike ran good and had a smooth power band. (The motor still needs to be broken in) The motor loosens up after 10+ hours of riding time. Then that's when the motor comes to life. The clutch is engaging a little too soon but the manual says not to adjust the clutch until after 5 hours of riding time. This motor came with a 3 shoe adjustable clutch. The bike felt silky smooth jumping off the side walk. Hopefully we'll get a chance to test it in the dirt this weekeknd.

This looks to be a real fun riding machine. You could ride this just about anywhere and mighty quickly too. Dean's work is impecable and the design is very clean and minimal in it's simplicity. It looks to be strong where it needs strength and will be lively with the dual suspension. Is it all 4130 cro moly tubing?

Thanks Lenny, It was pretty fun to test the bike yesterday but it still needs to be fine tuned. The bike still got up and went especially when the power bands kicked in. Dean did use 4130 CM for the whole frame and welded with a TIG welder. The bike is pretty light. We'll weigh it later today and I'll let you guys know her weight.

The bottom part of the frame. Dean used double tubing because of the exhaust port comes straight out in the middle.
